More tests, read positives, are coming in Jan:
-
"One of the problems is that that's not going to be totally available to everyone until we get to January, and there are still some issues now of people having trouble getting tested," Fauci told ABC

Brown bars are the weekend. Many testing centers and labs are closed Sat/Sun which is why positive results dip.
Yesterday was not only a weekend, but it was also Christmas Day.
Yet, the number of positive results soared to 131k, the highest Saturday since last January.

Most European countries reported zero yesterday, including the UK (source: Johns Hopkins).
The actual positives not reported yesterday, when everyone is caught up, will be added to subsequent days as history is not revised.
So, expect a big spike next week.

The exception was France, and they might be a "tell" of what is coming next week.
They were operating yesterday and reporting a big spike in new daily positive results to a new all-time record ... again on a weekend and Christmas Day!

Remember, I do not opine on the health risks. Instead, I focus on the economic risks.
* US positive cases quarantine for 10 days
* Europe positive cases quarantine for 7 days
* Asia as a zero COVID policy.
6/n
So regardless of the health risk or not, we are about to see many million missing tens, if not hundreds, of millions of workdays.
This will slow production. See the airline schedules this weekend ... coming to all industries shortly?
7/n
Fauci seemed to acknowledge this reduction in workers is coming saying plans are to help with missing workers (not reduce time away).
Most live their life like they do not fear Omicron, so do not expect a like drop in demand.
Same demand, less production = higher prices.
