We often talk about the Mainstream Media "Gaslighting" the populace but what do we mean by that?

Well let's take a look at a recent example...

This was tweeted by @magnusllewellin of @thetimes... 1/6
Just looking at the headline (as most people never look past them these days) you'd think things were awful in Scotland, and better in England!

But if you read the article you'll see it was from a visit nearly 30 yrs ago!

thetimes.co.uk/article/027bad… 2/6
Let's imagine that a newspaper known to support Scottish Independence posted a headline similar to this image?... 3/6
Can you imagine the uproar? about how deliberately misleading we were being, trying to undermine the Union etc etc.

Can you imagine if the same Indy supporting newspaper posted a headline like this next image? 4/6
There would be hell on, and quite rightly so.

To be clear @magnusllewellin for @thetimes isn't lying, we're just not sure there is any value in publishing this story right now. Particularly as when the Dutch Queen was shocked Scotland was still under "full UK Control". 5/6
The fictional Indy Supporting newspaper wouldn't be lying if they published tweets referring to Chamberlain and Churchill... but they would be deliberately misleading.

@theTimes and @magnusllewellin aren't lying... but they are gaslighting. Call it out when you see it. 6/6

Wow!

This is just unbelievable, @Gilfeather10 was already out of touch when he could still get his coupon onto our TV's! And it seems years in the wilderness (or the Evening Express if you prefer) haven't clued him in at all.

Kudos to our colleague @KirstySNP for calling this out. We're glad she has and we hope more will follow suit.

And to those who cast doubt on the SNP's commitment to Independence, stuff like this is why our elected members can't spend 100% of their day as campaigners for Indy.
We have to govern and campaign, while those who doubt our conviction only have to campaign.

It's because Evil like this exists, and ignorant attitudes not only exist but are given column inches that we have to intervene.

Keep up the good work Kirsty.
We've got your back SNPPHD.

Many of our local members rely on the Oil and Gas Industry for their livelihood, but we also recognise that we can't keep doing this to the planet for ever…

One of the ways we can offset the harm done by fossil fuels is Carbon Capture and Storage…

bbc.co.uk/news/av/scienc…
The North East of Scotland has been aware of this for a long, long time, we are ideally placed to do this using existing Oil and Gas infrastructure in reverse.

Things were looking good, until this happened in 2015…

But all was not lost, Nicola Sturgeon commissioned a feasibility study in 2018…

We kinda tuned out of watching @bbcquestiontime for a wee while but we wish we had watched it last night.

It seems that the carefully chosen audience started a revolt...

... the absolute ridiculousness of the situation is ably explained by this lady...

The first Indyref was a period of hope and astounding levels of political engagement, and obviously the following day crushing disappointment. Yesterday was the 7th anniversary of the referendum, many Independence Campaigners took part in the @believeinscot day of Action…
Many Politicians on both sides of the debate commented to mark the Anniversary, those on the Indy side led by @NicolaSturgeon generally lamented the loss, but vowed to keep the hope alive…
As you can imagine certain members of the @ScotTories Branch Office approached this anniversary with their customary lack of grace. None more so that agitator in Chief Murdo Fraser MSP with this typical (and totally lacking in self-awareness) contribution….

We all want ready access to services.

We all also want MSP’s who know what’s reserved and what’s devolved!

Everyone meet Douglas Lumsden MSP, former leader of Aberdeen City Council and List MSP for the North East Region since May the 7th.

eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/news/local/…
Now Douglas is quite rightly concerned about Post Office branches closing, lack of access to cash etc.
And he quite rightly drew attention to it by raising it in Parliament and posing for a wee photo outside a local post office with a concerned look slapped all over his coupon.
But Douglas Lumsden would have done well to do a bit of research first…

Banking regulation, which led to the closure of bank branches in the first place is of course a reserved matter where he’d be better raising this with the UK Gov’t.
