He also gave President's Gold Medal to Abhyuday Pandey and Ratan Swarup Memorial Prize to Yash Maheshwari. We would like to thank Shri Narendra Modi Ji for motivating and encouraging the students with his heart warming words.
He delivered a highly motivational speech which made the event a really rare event - a spontaneous standing ovation from the students after his speech. @PMOIndia@narendramodi
Making sure that no one is left behind, Modi Ji surprised us all by his wish to meet all the students who could not attend this event in the auditorium due to limited capacity (following covid protocol) and we're watching the live streaming in L19 & L20 . @PMOIndia@narendramodi
He also applauded the efforts @IITKanpur and inspired us to do more in the fields of research and startups to contribute more in the effort of an #AtmanirbharBharat. His presence and words will inspire us all to do more and more for the country continuously. @IncubatorIITK
Once again, my best wishes to all the graduating students for a new beginning and a bright future. Special thanks to Dr K Radhakrishnan, our Chairman, Board of Governors, @IITKanpur for his continued guidance and mentorship. @radhakr272

I have been reading many questions expressed in various postings and articles on social media about one of the most transformative schemes of the Govt - One Nation One Subscription (ONOS). I have attempted to answer many of them in this post.
Read the thread-
1. How will the ONOS scheme be better than the earlier system of institutional subscription?
The scheme enables access to ALL journals of 30 publishers (about 13400 of them) to about 1.8 Crore registered users of more than 6300 government academic & R&D institutions, including central and state public universities.
2. What is the biggest advantage of ONOS?
Before ONOS, only 2360 institutions were subscribing to about 8000 journals. But more importantly, depending on funds and requirements, different institutions were subscribing to only a subset of the journals. ONOS now enables access to ALL journals of 30 publishers.
Large number of state public universities which were not able to access these journals due to fund crunch will be the biggest beneficiaries.
Indian Institute of Astrophysics @IIABengaluru, an autonomous body under @IndiaDST, has played a crucial role in the #SuryaTilak Project at #Ayodhya. Sunlight was directed onto the forehead of Sri Ram Lalla at 12 noon on April 17, 2024, on the occasion of Sri #RamNavami in the Chaitra month, and this ritual will be repeated every year.
The team led by @IIABengaluru carried out calculations of the Sun's position, designed and optimized the optical system, and performed the integration and alignment at the site.
As the temple is not fully completed now, the IIA experts modified the design to suit the existing structure and performed image optimization. This design, with four mirrors and two lenses, was executed for the Surya Tilak.

Today, the medical robots have prohibitively high cost due to the deployment of numerous servo-motors for their operation. These motors also increase the size and weight of the robots significantly.
In order to reduce the cost, size & weight of the robots, Prof Bishakh Bhattacharya & his team has taken inspiration from human muscle structure and developed a new artificial muscle system using wires with memory which can generate at least three times more force per unit weight
The overall weight is also reduced to the one third of the original weight. This human like muscle system has the additional advantage of non-magnetic nature so that they can be used in MRI, CT Scanners and various surgical functions.
