The @FT writes "No conceivable descendant of Sars-Cov-2 could have enough mutations in the right places to escape fully the attentions of both antibodies and T-cells generated by prior exposure to an earlier variant."
Not a single source cited. Because there are none.
@FT This commenter Is exactly right. Wall Street hucksters are not authorities on viral evolution.
@K_G_Andersen I presume the FT didn't ask your opinion before writing this.

How American capitalism profits on death
Please share this thread! #Omicron
---
On Monday, as the US hit one million #covid19 cases, three times higher than previous waves, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up by 400 points, a new record. 1/🧵 wsws.org/en/articles/20…
Throughout 2021, as 478,000 Americans died, the Dow Jones logged 70 closing records in its third straight year of annual double-digit increases. “There were actually more new all-time highs than in the entire '70s and 2000s combined, those two decades.”
2/🧵
Omicron fears led to a Wall Street selloff in early December, which ended when Biden went on TV to declare that his administration is “making sure that COVID-19 no longer closes businesses or schools.” Since then, Dow is up 2k points, daily cases hit 1 million
3/🧵
1/ White House spokesperson Jen Psaki rejected the idea of sending free COVID-19 tests to all Americans to protect against the dangerous new Omicron variant, pressing reporters, “How much would that cost?”
2/ At wholesale prices of approximately $1 per test (the going price in Germany), it would cost approximately $329 million. Sending every single American a COVID-19 test would cost the equivalent of less than one-tenth of 1 percent of the military budget. wsws.org/en/articles/20…
3/ The US military budget is 2,000 times more expensive than sending every American a test to detect #COVID19 the single greatest threat to their lives, more deadly than cancer, heart disease, smoking and auto accidents. wsws.org/en/articles/20…
1/ @ggreenwald In all seriousness I have a question for you. In what context has your ability to communicate your views on the origins of COVID-19 ever been impeded? Have you, for instance, ever had any of your articles banned on Facebook? Is Google targeting you?
2/ For more than two months, every single person who shared my article "Washington Post’s ‘Wuhan Lab’ conspiracy theory stands exposed" on Facebook had the link removed and multiple sharers had their accounts suspended. wsws.org/en/articles/20…
3/ When asked under oath to name "one high profile person or entity from a liberal ideology who you have censored," Google CEO Sundar Pichai named the WSWS.
1/ The group of right-wing militia that included #KyleRittenhouse was acting in alignment with the Kenosha Police Department against protestors. This is the only explanation for the actions of police before/during/after the shooting.
2/ Rittenhosue responded to a call by former Kenosha City Council member Kevin Mathewson to form a "Kenosha guard" against "evil thugs." One response was to the call was “Armed and ready. Shoot to kill tonight." Mathewson was in regular touch Kenosha police chief Miskins.
3/ Mathewson emailed Miskins, "I am the Commander of the Kenosha Guard, a local militia. We are mobilizing tonight." Miskins made no effort to dissuade him. Miskins acknowledge that the militia would be operating.

✔️“absolutely arresting and shocking,” said a former State Department official
✔️“ reaction inside the State Department was, “Holy shit,” one former senior official recalled.

We have just confirmed that Facebook has disabled the page of the International Youth and Students for Social Equality at the University of Michigan, as well as the accounts of all admins. This is an unprecedented attack on the speech rights of an official campus student group.
THE IYSSE@UM is an officially-sanctioned campus student group since 2007. Its facebook account has been active since 2013. Both its president and campus advisor have had their accounts disabled.
