India is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. It is as diverse in its destinations as it is in its people.
My wife & i travel extensively, and over the last few years have done roadtrips across India (not bragging).
The more we explore our country, the more we are in awe of it.
Here are 9 amazing places we were lucky to experience last year:
1. GULMARG, KASHMIR:
In the winters, Gulmarg feels more like a dream! The snowfall & the white vistas make for views you usually only see in the movies.
The gandola ride is breathtaking & there is a good chance you might never want to leave.
Don’t worry about your safety here. Kashmiris are very hospitable & friendly people.. and they are heavily dependent on tourism.
2. RANN OF KUTCH, GUJARAT:
A one-of-a-kind landscape awaits you in the western part of Gujarat. The White Rann is a different world altogether ….
We experienced the most amazing sunsets here!
Also, the Rann is a great place for those interested in birds. Many migrate here in the winters.
We witnessed a large number of Flamingoes, Cranes, Imperial Eagles.. among others.
3. PRASCHAR LAKE, HIMACHAL:
One of our best travel memories, Praschar Lake is surrounded by mountains. … & it has spiritual significance too.
Interestingly, there is a small piece of mass in the lake which moves around the entire year (different place in each season).
The Praschar Lake offers different types of views in different seasons. It was covered in snow when we were there, next time hopefully in the green season.
4. ORCCHA, MP: A small town on the banks of river Betwa in MP, Orchha was founded in the 16th century.
The entire town is a historic site with many fascinating stories of the rulers & the legends.
5. AMBOLI, MAHARASHTRA:
Visiting Amboli during the monsoons is a unique experience.
Apart from the majestic waterfalls, the surrounding forest is home to a variety of reptiles NOT found anywhere else on the planet.
The drive to Amboli is alone worth the time & effort. The hills, the misty views & the green fields are a sight to behold.
6. VELAVADAR, GUJARAT:
A hidden gem in Gujarat, the Blackbuck National Park in Velavadar is a unique grasslands forest….. unlike most forests in India which are thick & dense.
The forest is home to some of the endangered species of birds & animals… & also attracts many migratory birds.
We were lucky to spot the Hyena, Wolf, Sarus Crane, Imperial Eagle, Night jar among many species.
One of our best forest experiences.
7. SOUTH GOA:
We all love Goa. But the southern part of Goa is completely different from the usually-visited north.
The beaches are stunning - Kakolem, Cola, Galgibaga, Butterfly beach .. .. complimented by the surrounding forests.
The Netravali waterfall is gorgeous.
There is more to Goa than just the beaches, & South Goa has all of it.
Also, it is cheaper than North Goa :)
8. SOMNATH, GUJARAT:
Somnath temple is a sacred place of pilgrimage & one of the Jyotirlingas is present here. If you are religiously & spiritually inclined, you must visit this ancient town of Somnath located by the Arabian Sea.
9. KANHA NATIONAL PARK, MP:
One of the most beautiful forests in the country, Kanha is home to plenty of flora & fauna. The undisputed celebrity being the Royal Bengal Tiger.
Kanha is said to be the forest on which the “Jungle Book” by Rudyard Kipling is based.
Yes, we have a special liking for forests & nature. And we intend to explore more in 2022.
Do remember - whenever you travel, travel responsibly & maintain necessary protocols.
Have you been to any of the above places? Please Comment below.
Lastly, would you like me to write more about my travel experiences?
END.

From cleaning out the office garbage to leading a team across countries, I was lucky to have different experiences & roles.
Here are my learnings:
1. DON’T COMPARE YOURSELF WITH OTHERS: It is easy to compare our situation & journey with someone else’s. We compare salaries, designations, progress, etc.
Maybe this is inherent in our society! But the more you compare, the more it will impact you negatively!
Did you know that VIVO acquired the Title Sponsor rights of the IPL for a whopping 2,190 Crores for 5 years…. That’s 438 Crores per season!!!
Sponsorship in IPL happens in two ways:
(a) Central Sponsorship: Association at the League level
(b) Team Sponsorship: Association with a team / franchise
