🦠Covid Update: Data up to 1st Jan 2022 shows 11,316 confirmed cases for the last 7 days, an increase of 4692 cases on the previous week. The latest weekly rate of COVID-19 in Liverpool is 2272.1 per 100,000 population & the latest positivity rate is 27.1% liverpool.gov.uk/communities-an…
🦠this is our highest recorded rate ever, and is very high. Please be aware of covid risk when out and about #covidsafe
🦠over 60’s rate is 1120/100,000, again very very high!
🦠vaccination is key to reducing risk of serious illness from infection, so please #getvaccinated
🦠we now have over 240 people in covid+ beds in @LivHospitals , 15 of them in ICU. As a result of our current infection rate this number is likely to increase
🦠alongside vaccination, essential that we all continue to test regularly, wear coverings, practice good infection control, and think about avoiding crowded / unventilated spaces.
Thankfully serious harm due to omicron is lower, but is isn’t nil; and a small propn of a large number of people still ends up being a large number of people in hospital
Alongside this, people being off sick will cause disruption to key/essential services, and indeed to all our lives. Please be #covidsafe
