The Biden Admin supported & increased the #police budget, while the media accentuates the “surge in violent #crime.”

This will disproportionately affect the Black community, as in #California we’re “3 times more likely to be seriously injured, shot, or killed by the police..”

In #California governor Gavin Newsom’s “Real Public Safety Plan,” it includes things like $255M in grants over 3 yrs to increase police presence in retail stores, a permanent Smash & Grab Enforcement Unit under the CA Highway Patrol & $30M in grants for local prosecutors… 👀

Last year I posted about the 5 suspects who were arrested, & the $80M in stolen merchandise recovered during a sting operation that busted the largest #retailtheft organization to date, in the state of #California.

Also, the #Glendale PD in #LosAngeles County also found 2 individuals running a “major theft operation,” in which they recovered $100K in stolen merchandise & $40K in cash.

Gov. Newsom’s plan may lead to an increase in Civil Rights violations & arrests of Black Californians.
