It’s true that a medical mask made with three layers and fitting right against the face can be almost as effective as N95. It can provide 94% particle filtering.

But that’s not the issue here. And Dr. Hinshaw is enabling disinformation.

A cloth mask is inadequate for omicron. Period.

Surgical masks are typically loose on the side of the face. That’s inadequate to protect from omicron. N95 is the only mask that will reliably filter out 95% of particulate and provide protection from omicron.

I don’t know why Dr. Hinshaw is presenting confusing information. Maybe because she knows the government’s plan is to infect as many as possible to develop herd immunity. I don’t care what her rationale is. She’s proven herself untrustworthy.

Any science or medical position that must bend to the will of politicians cannot be trusted at this point. Because politicians have an alternate agenda. Keeping the economy going. Human life has taken a back seat to corporate greed and the demands of the wealthy.

I just finished watching the movie “Concussion.”

The movie spells out the lengths corrupt people will go to in order to cover up troublesome scientific evidence and maintain control and power & of course continue to make millions in profits.

The premise of the movie is the discovery of a brain injury that was killing former NFL players. Completely altering their brain from a build up of proteins created from multiple concussions. And the NFL’s efforts to destroy the career of the man who made the discovery.

Owners and the Football League do not view players as human beings. They view them like prize race horses or show dogs. While they are treated well and given all they need to succeed, they are ultimately pieces of property, no longer human with feelings & lives outside football.

By the time the brain injury results in obvious behaviour change and significant problems, they’ve left the league. Like horses or dogs, their usefulness has expired and they can be sent to produce dog food or put down so they are no longer a burden.

The same attitude and belief system is behind UCP’s and many other conservative’s decisions about Covid. Like Gary Bettman, politicians are just hired thugs to protect the wealthy owners investments. They protect the rigid making ability of the sport (provincial economy).

Concern for individuals is absent. They are widgets in a machine that can be replaced if required. They are no longer human beings with rights, freedoms, families and lives of their own. They exist purely to make people money and add to their prestige & social status as owners.

The protagonist in the movie (the Doctor who made the discovery) was threatened physically and professionally to drop the pursuit of the information. The FBI arrested his boss to intimidate him. They followed and terrorized his wife. He was forced to relocate.

But in the end, one of the football top brass, a former player himself, shot himself in the heart and donated his brain to science to prove the doctor he had helped demonize and destroy his career had made a valid discovery. He himself was proof.

Gary Bettman is still the NFL commissioner. Football is still played. Owners still make millions and have no concern for the wellbeing of the players beyond the exploitation of their athletic performance for profit.

This is the state of the world.

The wealthy are without consequence. Their wealth provides them impunity by hiring cronies to perform their bidding.

Those cronies include corrupt politicians who have now qualms sending children into certain contagion and the teachers who educate them. Keeping daycares open.

Because the economy is more important than the lives of the public who work to keep them in profits.

Why we continue to obey is clear. We want to maintain our own standard of living and keep paying our bills.

But that’s a shitty excuse to put children at grave risk.

At least teachers and the older kids can get vaccinated. But the youngest are without any protections at all. Thoughts and prayers. That’s all children between newborn and 11 years of age get. Some have partial vaccination. Some might even have 2 doses.

But that’s the limit of caring they receive. We are no different than the fat cats treating football players like prize stallions. Our only interest in their preservation is prestige and status of ownership; if you’re sending your children to school Monday or to daycare.

Our job as citizens is to provide a safe and healthy environment for children and teachers (and all school staff) to enable their education. We pick representatives to complete that task properly.

But the UCP have abdicated that role and work for big business now.

They don’t care if your child contracts omicron. They don’t care if teachers contract omicron. They only care if their benefactors continue to make profits.

Am we allow this to happen because we do nothing to stop it.

In the movie, NFL players and their families sued the NFL and owners for keeping the information about successive concussions secret.

There were some changes made, but ultimately the players wanted to continue to make millions playing football for our entertainment.

However, a class action lawsuit from Alberta citizens against the perpetrators of this heinous policy putting our children at risk so adults can continue to make profits for fat cats might be the message these avarice fuelled cretins need.
