Cruises use quarantine ships for isolating covid-positive crew - The Washington Post

Apparently to keep numbers at a level to reduce the chances of being refused permission to dock.

But the suggested number of test positive crew are eye watering.…
Walker (a Miami lawyer) reported more than 3,700 infected crew members between three of the ships, but that number could not be independently verified.

And a supervisor in close contacted with an infected crew member was not required to isolate.
Is it different in hotels, but going unreported, given the lower testing requirements?

2 separate leaving parties merging into one as the night wore on.

Someone was sent to the Co-op on the Strand, a busy street nearby, with a suitcase which was then filled with bottles of wine and brought back to Downing Street, according to one person at the gathering that night
In the basement, there is said to have been a party atmosphere. A laptop had been placed on a photocopier and music was blaring out.

Wine spilt on the carpet

Carried on into the early hours of the morning

And Johnson, Sunak and the police did not KNOW⁉️

They think we’re mugs
One of those parties was for “Enemies of The People” headline James Slack : off to the Sun.

Who truly was the enemy of the people?

I know.

The thing that is hard to understand is this.

The Met MUST have known of all the party-type social goings-on at No 10.

I find it hard to believe that the Police Officers on duty did not seek an early steer from Senior officers.
That being so, why did not someone such as Dick go to the PM & PPS and have a tactful word early on eg “You really cannot do this as we would, in fairness, be forced to intervene to uphold the laws you passed even handedly”

Did she (or a DAC Protection and Security) not do that
We know these parties were still going on months later.

What were the private conversations between police officers on duty, their senior officers to whom they report and those at the very top?

MI5 send urgent email to MPs warning about Chinese woman

Christine Lee has been engaged in political interference activities on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party, engaging with MPs & associated political entities, inc the APPG: Chinese in Britain…
'I should highlight the fact that Lee has facilitated financial donations to serving and aspiring Parliamentarians on behalf of foreign nationals based in Hong Kong & China

'This facilitation was done covertly to mask the origins of the payments.’

So which MPs were hoodwinked?
H/t @iamdarrellmills for this article actually mentioning Christine Lee. It seems awfully old (3 years) to be the object of the current statement.

But the reference was to MPs (plural) so who else has Chinese interests?…

Jonathan Van-Tam quits his post as England's Deputy Chief Medical Officer in more misery for Boris Johnson

“Officially” it is because his secondment to the Department from Uni of Nottingham has come to an end.…
But I’m certain it could have been extended were he willing.

The party revelations will have offended him and the blow back on officials who work with this admin isn’t good for their reputations.
Nor the current death toll. A policy failure.
Also, given the content of his Royal Society lectures, one cannot help but think that he has felt at odds with Gov policy decisions for quite a while.

“Behind him there was a wall of silence, which will have been much more disconcerting than the shouts of Labour MPs in front of him. The men and women of the Conservative parliamentary party gazed at him. Their golden goose was laying diseased eggs.”…
“ The great guarantor of electoral victory was tarnished, seemingly beyond repair.

There was no moral dimension to their calculation and we shouldn’t pretend otherwise. They gave up any right to that word when they allowed him to become Prime Minister”
“Boris Johnson has lied and bent the truth throughout his career. “

The damage is done.

Two days in a row there’s been nearly 400 deaths and this in a highly vaccinated population.

I have to go back to February (with limited vaccination) to see as many deaths in a day.
This is what you get with a Prime Minister who pretends he does not recognise a party when he is at one.

And a Party that keeps on covering for his incompetence and dishonesty - and, indeed, urges on him decisions that have delivered these deaths

The rot is in the party.
Ironically 20th May 2020 was also a Wednesday and there were fewer deaths on that day than today.

398 today

328 on Wed 20th May 2020

And - by this measure- over 115k more deaths since then

140k more by ONS (Covid certificated deaths by date of death) measure.

What a disgrace
