#SeditionHunters - the FBI have finally come for the Oath Keepers "Person 1", Stewart Rhodes. Arrested Thursday afternoon in Texas. Charges still sealed but WaPo claims it will be "seditious conspiracy", the first such charge for the Capitol attack. 1/ washingtonpost.com/national-secur…
DOJ has now issued a press release and posted documents. Seditious conspiracy is applied to Rhodes and 10 previously charged defendants. 2/
justice.gov/opa/pr/leader-…
As a reminder, many other groups are equally important. more charges are coming. On Jan 5th, Rhodes & his lawyer famously met up with other leaders in a parking garage, including Enrique Tarrio (Proud Boys), Joshua Macias (Vets for Trump), Bianca Garcia (Latinos for Trump). 3/
The parking garage meeting was captured because Tarrio let a British film crew shadow him. He was arrested Jan 4, released & told to leave DC, stopped at the garage en route. Watch for yourself at link. Tarrio passed leadership to other Proud Boys... 4/

The OK indictment shows explicit talk of armed takeover, and inspiration from Eastern Europe, where 'hybrid' actions of large crowds combined with military actors have toppled governments. (Rhodes says: "Military aligned with the people"). Similar language is used by many.. 5/
Here are the OK's charging documents at link. They held training sessions on road blocks and ambushes, advocated use of force. On January 6, some of them acted less fearsome - skipped fighting, took selfies. But the intent was there, and the planning.. 6/
justice.gov/opa/press-rele…
To show how common this talk was, here's Patrick Byrne, not a military guy at all, former Overstock CEO, election-fraud conspirator, pal of Michael Flynn, met with Trump on Nov 18th - casually discussing the playbook he'd learned on a trip to Moldova... 7/ deepcapture.com/2021/01/a-mess…
Byrne wrote this on Jan 17, after the Capitol attack, partly to blame Jan 6 violence on the "Goon Left" and "weak" people. Hybrid actions require restraint! he says. What it shows: J6 figures casually referenced E. European hybrid warfare - because everyone talked about it. 8/
Many were open about what they wanted - here's Joshua Macias in front of the Capitol asking Trump to "invoke the Insurrection Act", declare martial law. Watch video and that language is everywhere - promoted on social media in a months-long campaign. 9/
Macias & Lamotta in that video (both Vets for Trump) are not yet charged with federal crimes, tho they have state charges for menacing a Philly vote-counting center. But Lamotta fought with police on Jan 6; he will be arrested. Big charges are coming. 10/
A timing note: Rhodes' conspiracy charges come just 8 days after a Washington Post article quoted a compromised source saying "There's no grand conspiracy that FBI found". Also the arrested are "mostly everyday Americans". Coincidence? Or planted spin? 11/
washingtonpost.com/national-secur…
In Aug., Reuters put out a similar article: anonymous sources claimed the FBI found no organization at all, specifically "there was no grand scheme with Roger Stone and Alex Jones". That SAME DAY Jones' associate Owen Shroyer was arrested. People spin! 12/
Props to @MysteRayOfSun who found the Patrick Byrne article & all the #SeditionHunters whose work has been invaluable in identifying individuals, understanding patterns, & helping build solid, winnable prosecutions of those responsible for the Capitol attack. 13/
Typo fix: Byrne met with Trump on DECEMBER 18th, not November. This is the crazy meeting where Flynn & co. proposed seizing voting machines. Witness Jonathan Swan: "You wouldn't believe this stuff if you read it in fiction, but it actually happened." 14/
With Rhodes' arrest, FBI has now made a clean sweep of the top row of the "9 Leaders Leading" in our Christmas thread. Hoping the 4 in the bottom row are having a nervous New Year. 15/
Update: For those who want visuals, Dallas News is staking out the house where Stewart Rhodes was arrested, in Little Elm, near Dallas. Lots of Dallas/Ft. Worth at the Capitol Jan 6: Kellye Sorelle, Ali Alexander, N. Texas Patriot Boys' Lucas Denney. 16/
Another correction: the president of Latinos for Trump (& candidate for Texas State Sen.) is Bianca Gracia, not Garcia. She kept busy on Jan 5 - here's the parking garage crowd talking insurrection in a 40-minute video from VA State Sen. Amanda Chase. 17/
Update on Rhodes: a new spectacularly ill-advised interview by attorney Jon Moseley, who admits the OKs had expected to be called up to serve as a militia when Trump invoked the Insurrection Act. The J6 crowd widely expected this. (h/t @JohnDoeskibro) 18/
Here's the Above the Law take on the Moseley / Oath Keeper interview, says the interview is an "error in judgment" worse than Moseley's boasting he will "drink[] champagne on... Kelly Meggs' yacht, purchased from his malicious prosecution lawsuit.." 19/
abovethelaw.com/2022/01/oath-k…
Possibly not a coincidence that Rhodes appears to have chosen another lawyer to represent him now. 20/

#SeditionHunters - Time's up for #RayBanTerrorist! a long-awaited Proud Boys arrest, one of the first tracked, now up on PACER, information to follow. He walked in with the Proud Boys, fought on the Plaza and in the tunnel, part of the crowd surrounding Officer Fanone. 1/ Image
Former Air Force serviceman AJ Fischer got his tag as #RayBanTerrorist for his cool shades. But the militia movement is complicated - between the Air Force and his time in extremism, the great @rocketman2001
found he spent some time as a male model. 2/ ImageImage
Correction: AJ Fischer aka #RayBanTerrorist's modeling career came first, then the Air Force, then militia. Here he is in 2018 with pals from the 14th Airlift Squadron, Joint Base Charleston, S.C. (He's on the right.) The pathways to extremism are complicated. 3/ Image

#SeditionHunters - bad day today for attorney Joseph McBride - the 2nd of his 3 alleged "agent provocateurs" is now arrested & indicted, Proud Boy Zachary Johnson (#GogglesMan), along with buddy Dion Rajewksi (#BadMarinePB per @seditiontrack). 1/
McBride named 3 suspicious provocateurs who should be blamed instead of his clients for Capitol violence. The first, #RedFace45, proved to be an eccentric St. Louis Cardinals fan known as "Rally Runner". #GogglesMan was a known Proud Boy and now an arrested one. Only 1 left... 2/ Image
Here's the 3rd of McBride's villains, purported provocateur #PippiLongscarf, who led poor unwitting Patriots down the wrong path. 3/ Image

#SeditionHunters - this week's Capitol breach court cases, from @RubyWorms. Multi-person indictments in squares - big ones tomorrow coming up for status conferences, 3 of the main Proud Boys groups. 1/

Here are the big 4 PB leaders - Biggs, Nordean, Rehl, Donahoe - assembling the troops in the morning on Jan 6, issuing orders. No doubt that they planned: had a 60-person message channel; Donahoe had asked for a "commander's briefing" the night before.. 2/
The PB leaders filed to dismiss charges of conspiring to obstruct or impede an official proceeding (18 USC 1512(c)(2)): the electoral certification wasn't an official proceeding, driving lawmakers into hiding wasn't obstruction, + they weren't violent. Judge Kelly said, nope. 3/ Image

#SeditionHunters following the developing story of VP-elect Kamala Harris & the pipe bomb on Jan 6: here are some resources to show the discrepancies. Politico writes that Kamala Harris was in the DNC building when the bomb was found, evacuated 1:14 PM. 1/
politico.com/news/2022/01/0…
On Jan 6, the first bomb was found in the RNC (Republican National Committee). USCP Chief Sund, in a Feb 1 letter to Congress, said the RNC bomb was found at 12:52 PM (widely reported), but the DNC one not til 1:50 PM - inconsistent with Politico. 2/
s3.documentcloud.org/documents/2047…
Events on Jan 6 were confusing, reporting was often scrambled, and the DNC bomb got less attention since the attack was ongoing. Sund is consistent, though, repeating the same timing in testimony to the Senate on Feb. 23: 1:50 PM for the DNC bomb. 3/

Today, a year after the Jan 6 Capitol attack, President Biden helped explain what has kept #SeditionHunters working all that time: "we are in a battle for the soul of democracy that by the grace of God.. we will win". And: "Let's step up". We did. 1/
The "battle" isn't just about the specific incidents on January 6, it's bigger - it's defending the concept of truth at all. Biden: "Tragically, there are lies - lies conceived and spread for profit and power. We must be absolutely clear about what is true, and what is a lie." 2/
The foundation of understanding Jan 6 is public video - 22,000+ individual pieces of evidence. #SeditionHunters have watched all of them. DOJ and Jan6 Committee now have private information too, but video is open to all - here are instructions. 3/

#SeditionHunters - as we near the 1-year anniversary of the Capitol attack, 2 resolutions: no more lies, & release all footage. LA Times just posted video that shows...Glen Simon (#PurplePantherPunk) of GA lied for his plea deal, hid assaults on police. (h/t @SometimesUsefu2) 1/
Simon was well-known inside the Capitol: he posted pix on FB, was reported in January, is seen in many videos. He pled guilty to Parading & Picketing (US 5104 e2G)... but didn't mention he was also one of the 1st onto the W. Plaza, fought police there. 2/
justice.gov/usao-dc/case-m…
As is usual, Simon's plea deal has an escape clause, allows charges for "any crime of violence" he committed. So he'll go to prison. But J6 defense attorneys - stop wasting everyone's time, hurting your clients (judges don't like lies). Tell the truth. 3/
