The great decoupling of species from existence.

🚜⚰️ industrial agriculture causing mass extinction:

* carbon emissions leading us to 2°C-3°C by 2040s with large parts of the US uninhabitable
* pesticides wiping out insect life
* toxic pollution wrecking ecosystems

Emissions are projected to rise to record levels over the next 3 or 4 years. The danger is dire 1.6°C-2°C at >450 ppm of CO2 by the 2030s as aerosols are cut - that's world ending for a horrific number of people and species. We must focus on the 2020s, 2030s, & 2040s!

The planet we think we're living on no longer exists.
State-corporate media are radically downplaying the most important story in human history.

The words 'abrupt climate change' are nowhere to be found. Even 'climate change' is relegated to paragraph 23 in many articles or missing entirely.

1.8-2C by 2035?
We need extraordinary, fair, emergency, system change action to limit the doom. 🕊️💚

Record-breaking heat on January 1st 2022, but no mention of abrupt climate change.

In fact, no mention of the climate-extinction catastrophe anywhere on the Guardian homepage.
