1. CDS. While Navy and Airforce continued with their progressive training since 1990, Army was completely consumed in Counter Insurgency. It shifted its assembly line of producing generals to CI. A Lieutenant in 1990 is a Maj Gen/Lt Gen today. We have product of CI all over.

2. CDS. We have the Army Commanders and Chief who were Captains in 1989-85, and the only lot commissioned prior to CI that started in 1990. They have spent their service from Major to Lt Gen/General in CI. The upward mobility was provided by CI or commanding a Strike Corps.

3. CDS. Focusing on CI. All one has to do is to list out every Lt Gen promoted from 2001 to date and simply see their Command. Command of unit, Brigade, Division and Corps. 99% earned their ranks due to Counter Insurgency. They invested in CI industry.

4. CDS. Now take the Strike Corps. 1971-2020 was spent on two fronts. Invest in CI for promotions or create Pakistan phobia while ignoring China. Eyes were closed when it came to China. Result? THREE Strike Corps, all three for Pakistan front that too limited to plains.

5. CDS. Investment was in high decibel exercised like Brasstacks, total show-biz and keeping Armoured and Mech in centre. While Infantry grabbed CI, the Armoured Corps latched on to Strike Corps. The swag decided the threat. Each kept eyes closed to China with just one exception.

6. CDS. Result? A. No one ever spoke of two front war. B. Pre 71 Army dealt with two Pak fronts and executed a two front war, we forgot. C. China was conveniently tucked in backyard and any posting on China border was such a low career option. D. No unified structure of command

7. CDS. in China front. E. No strategy to handle China. F. No dedicated command for China. G. No Strike Corps for China. H. Practically China was made invisible by Army till Galwan jolt. WHO DID THIS? The Counter Insurgency & Strike Corps generation on assembly line since 90’s

8. CDS. No one ever wrote on Two Front War with China and Pakistan. No war games. No brain storming. No suggestion to convert one of the three strike corps for China. The Generals burdened Govt with Mountain Strike Corps a decade back. It requires in excess of a lac Cr.

9. CDS. Now soon as CDS selection comes, this short sighted Counter Insurgency generation feels they are best for the job. How? Track record? It will take 20 to 30 years for Army to produce a visionary CDS ONLY if the reset meter to promote merit. Till the time it’s CI and Strike

10. CDS. Corps, don’t expect any change. I have been writing extensively on RADICAL MILITARY REFORMS, which actually reset the systems to promote merit in army. Today Army promotes Infantry and Armoured only. Rest are support. You reap what you sow. Navy and Airforce need

11. CDS. need to alternate CDS for at least two decades while Army refocuses on conventional war on two fronts. While the three services focus on these issues, the Government needs to focus on the THIRD FRONT WAR. Quietly the enemy has opened tge third front. THE ENEMY WITHIN

12. CDS. Govt, Media, Political parties, bureaucracy, social media, ministries, fintech, IT and every possible sector has been targeted by enemy and Indians, in position of authority, are promoting pro-China narrative. The Govt needs to immediately start fighting the War on

13. CDS. on Third Front. This Govt has fallen in trap set by the third front enemy. CDS hence, must be used as a tool to get the country out of this war. We need a much bigger forum of which CDS must be a member. Trade War, Legal War, Media War and it goes on.
