In 2021, 8.873 mln babies registered, 4.681 mln (52.75%）are male while 4.192 mln (47.25%) are female. Top 10 cities for newborn registration are Chongqing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Beijing, Bijie (Guizhou), Linyi (Shandong), Zhoukou (Henan), Shenzhen, Xi'an & Zhengzhou./2
Here's the table for the top 50 most popular characters for baby names. 梓(Zǐ)、子(Zǐ)、宇(Yǚ) clung onto their places among the top 5, while 泽(Zé)、沐(Mù) replaced 辰(Chén)、一(Yī) from 2020. Word of advice: Don't bother with the specific literal meanings of each character./3 
Table 3 is the 10 most popular names for girls, table 2 is for boys. 1st column is ranking, 2nd column is the names, while 3rd column is the number of babies each name was given. Let's just say the trend has taken ALOT of twists and turns since the PRC's founding. /4
