Why risk that when we have vaccines,FFP2 masks and filters to make classes safe? The damage isn't always visible, maybe they'll get asked in 10 years time at a GP appointment "did you have COVID as a child " & "were you vaccinated?"

ONS FIGURES show 138 children have died, If this was just a childhood disease their would be uproar, children aren't meant to die and we shouldn't be comparing it to adult deaths. COVID is in top 5 childhood disease now that kills kids. 117000 with LONG COVID, 22000 over 12months

You know that infection doesn't mean immunity right? You can be reinfected again and again and with each infection you risk worsening cell damage and worsening of the immune system.

When in school they have brilliant FFP2, desk filter of their own and I bring home for lunch & singing. Atm school is too risky but they continue social interaction in their clubs eg son does footy, less kids,outdoors & wears sports FFP2..COVID has ripped through that team twice-
But he's avoided it and never had to isolate and miss a match because of it. His friends have. So don't tell me about MH, masks haven't harmed my kids.... grown ups in actions have. Grown ups have thrown education into chaos not the virus. Do better.
I might add that both my children's schools rejected HEPA filters that I bought. I gave them studies and facts on them. But their reason " not in the guidelines" & "no one else locally doing it" I kid you not, oh but they appreciate my "opinions". Well that'll keep the kids safe!
That's why we bought our kids their own mini portable ones for their desks. We didn't ask permission this time we simply told them it was happening or they wouldn't attend at all. Size of a pencil case, filters to 0.03 microns & whilst not designed for big space, we figure better
than nothing. So they have the filtered air blowing towards them throughout class whilst they there. I just don't get why people don't want to do more. It hurts no one but benefits everyone.
Also another point on MH, in what world do you think masks cause distress over a parent dying? Pretty sure kids would rather wear one! Whilst we're here no one and I mean NO ONE has been treated for wearing a mask but they have for COVID!! Our kids are capable!

She's working above expected levels, a mask has NOT stopped that.Her friends didn't disown her the world didn't fall apart & neither did she. But she did remain infection free. Not at school atm but when she is that's my girl!

For those who might bring up that she's not protecting anyone cos it has a valve....at this point I don't care as no one else is wearing one. If they were I'd close it. But they're not so it's for her. Plus the fact she wears one anywhere public... she's not the risk!
