CHLA is one of more than 30 institutions that will conduct a national study called RECOVER, or Researching COVID to Enhance Recovery, in an effort to “understand the mystery surrounding the aftereffects of COVID-19 infection.”
#LongCOVID refers to the persistence of symptoms in people who have recovered from a SARS-CoV-2 infection. Those symptoms include fatigue, cough, chest tightness, breathlessness, palpitations, myalgia, and difficulty focusing.

The night before Christian Cabrera died at Sherman Oaks Hospital, he wrote: "I can’t breathe. I really regret not getting the vaccine. If I could do it all over again I would do it in a heartbeat to save my life."
