(1/14) Your weekly thread on #l222 is here! The #Ethereum#Layer2 space is growing at a breakneck speed, so you'll find that my threads will focus on educational materials and protocol updates primarily, to provide the best signal to noise ratio. Here we go! 🧵👇
(2/14) @BanklessHQ killing it with the #Layer2 content! Want to read more about the coming Layer 2 token landscape, from token economics to how L2 tokens could affect the price of #Ethereum? Check out the writeup here:
(3/14) Huge news for @ImmutableX and #GameStop this week! @GameStop will be launching an #NFT marketplace using ImmutableX. This has some amazing potential for pioneering in-game NFTs. Can't wait to see how it shakes out. Read more here: theblockcrypto.com/linked/132903/…
(4/14) @kerzhner & @l_a_gap released a paper on optimizing crosschain swaps, suggesting SAFE (Secure Asymmetric Frugal Exchange) as an efficient & secure technique for batching swaps. Bridge design space really heating up! 🔥 Give it a read: ethresear.ch/t/optimizing-c…
(5/14) @ericglau released his @CairoLang language server as a standalone package so it can be used in any IDE. This is big, & will allow for interoperability between IDEs & language diagnostic tools. Cool to see the tooling ecosystem for @StarkNet grow!
(6/14) @InsightsFlow@mierzwik deployed an alpha version of a get_events endpoint for #StarkNet! Just a passive endpoint for now but exciting nonetheless! Read the docs and go try it out! starknet.events/redoc
(7/14) Ready to have your mind blown? 🤯 Read this fantastic educational thread about how @optimismPBC's fault prover works. A "minigeth" stateless implementation & VM primitive allow input of *the entire rollup* to be reduced to a single hash! Amazing!
(8/14) Need more info on @OptimismPBC's Cannon and why it uses MIPS? You know you do, and @gakonst has you covered! 👀This is really an elegant abstraction and worth reading about more than once!
(9/14) @MakerDAO held a call on "L2 Risk Considerations". Focus was on development of the multichain DAI strategy, viewing anything that isn't mainnet as a "domain" that must be secured. You can listen to the recording here: forum.makerdao.com/t/multichain-s…
(10/14) @MetisDAO's Metis network went down for 13 minutes last night for an urgent update -- they only have one sequencer right now but all funds were safe and they plan to add more sequencers in Q2! Appreciate the transparency and communication! 🙏
(11/14) @AltcoinDailyio interviewed @MetisDAO CEO @ElenaCryptoChic about #Metis & the future of Web3. Elena discusses the Metis no code solution for enterprise, the builder mining program, as well as plans for decentralized data storage! Watch here:
1/ What a week! #L222 is in full swing and this thread is long! Buckle up for a ride through the #Layer2#Ethereum happenings this week! 👇🧵
2/ @l2beatcom wants to launch a #Layer2 index token, and is seeking community feedback. No question in my mind that L2 tokens will be big this year, so this is one to watch. Pretty cool! gov.indexcoop.com/t/iip-launch-t…
1/ Feeling whiplash as #L222 gets started with a rush of news about and from various #Ethereum#Layer2 protocols? Here's a helpful thread about what's happened this week: 🧵
2/ This week, the Polygon network struggled under the weight of the @sunflowerfarmz game, with Polygon users & devs complaining about high gas fees & intermittent issues accessing the network. Cute game, but can the devs make their code more efficient? sunflower-farmers.com
3/ Many protocols are building on @arbitrum, and @ExaltedFoks tweeted a thread detailing some of the most interesting earlier this week!
1/ Had an interesting chat with @DavidAKillen today and I think we concluded that a new web3 dev career track is emerging -- the Layer 2 Developer.

2/ While Optimistic #rollups are similar enough to #Ethereum that special expertise is unnecessary,#ZKRollups and hybrid solutions will change that!
3/ A note on hybrid solutions: have seen modular solutions like @bobanetwork that could switch out the proving mechanism from optimistic to zk proofs, and @DCbuild3r's recent article explains we have a trend of "zk-ification" upon us. Keep an eye on this!
