If you read carefully, it’s a play by play of what’s happened in Canada as well as the US.

Neoliberalism (Brian Mulroney, Jean Chrétien). Austerity, build wealth for the wealthy, trickle down economics. Cut social programs, ignore climate.

Rise of extremism. In Canada it was Reform Party and Bloc Québécois. In the US the Tea Party and the Moral Majority.

Merge of extremists and neoliberals. And emergence of progressive left radicalization.

Then election of a disrupter. Harper in Canada and Trump in US.

The attack on foundations of democracy. Removal of institutional protections. (Media, law, social supports) advancement of economic policies favouring the wealthy.

Battle for control of the far right party.

Far right Dominionist contingent forces out neoliberal leaders.

Chaos ensues.

You will find this very same pattern in every western democracy. Adapted for local circumstances, of course.

There is only one way to ensure that kind of synergy and mutual support of illiberal autocracy favouring theocratic policy.

Precision in long game planning and immense wealth to pull it off.

That narrows the suspects greatly.

But not enough to find the head of the snake easily.

If intelligence community is completely compromised we are all screwed.

There is nothing we can do except trust our institutions.

But on a side note. Plenty of regular people have been warning about this reality for several years.

But, as Niemöller revealed, the public only worries about problems when it affects them directly. Which is too late to do anything, because everyone else has been removed.

Thankfully we are near that point but not beyond the point of no return.

Stop listening to minimizers who haven’t bothered to pay attention yet still have the audacity to refer to themselves as experts.

Stop listening to politicians using this crisis as an opportunistic campaign strategy to place blame and gain favour.

Stop listening to single issue minorities trying to use this attack to further their own agenda and raise awareness of the injustices targeting their ethnicity, gender or place of origin.

Every one of them are incapable of seeing what’s happening or they’re helping it along.

There are only two sides in this battle. Democracy and Authoritarianism.

Partisanship died January 29, 2022.

This isn’t about whose party is better able to address this problem. The problem is here. We need to deal with it now.

Face reality, Canada has been played by far right and far left radical extremists. They represent authoritarianism.

Everyone else needs to decide if they choose democracy or not.

Finger pointing can commence after the battle is won. Put your petty differences aside and focus.

Focus on the preservation of democracy. Because that’s what is at stake right now.

The only priority we all have is to learn how this came to be (which many people have documented for years) and to refuse the temptation to devolve into chaos pointing fingers.

This is NOT the time to ramble on about justice and your particular grievance due to its absence.

Everyone is at risk and every life is sacred. Not just yours.

If you can’t recognize that fact, you’re part of the problem. It’s honestly that simple.

I see so many progressives refer to interdependence and collective strength. So put your money where your mouth is and stop undermining the current federal authority. They’re all that stands between us and anarchy.
