For a quick overview of how Ukraine relates to current events in Canada, please read this thread.

It’s about Putin, Trump and organized crime. But it directly impacts geopolitics, including Canada.

Trump is a criminal. Release of his bank account information to FBI is done.
Investigators know all about it now. Which may be why Trump stole official records, flushed some down toilets and tried eating other records.

His goose is cooking and almost done.

This thread explains Trump was money laundering for Putin & his oligarchs before 2015.
Surely after 2015 as well. And most probably during his tenure as President. Evading sanctions imposed by a bipartisan congress and senate.

That’s treason.

How the DOJ handles this is not yet public knowledge.

The coup attempt is not Trump’s only treasonous act.
The installation of Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State should be a clue. It’s about oil. Fossil fuels. It always is. Everything revolves around the continued use of FF in a climate change reality. That’s all Russia the nation has for its economy. Sale of FF.
The Russian economy is the size of Italy’s although the nation has 140M people (or at least they did prior to Covid). And Italy has less than half that population.

Poverty is endemic in Russia.

Oligarchs and Putin have stolen much of the wealth and resources in Russia.
Criminals steal as opposed to operate legitimate business. Annexation is stealing.

Several regions in the Arctic are threatened by Russian incursion: Scandinavian nations like Norway; Sweden; Finland; Denmark by way of Greenland; the US (Alaska); and CANADA (YK, NWT, NU).
Russia wants to claim ALL the oil in the Arctic and to control Canada’s NW Passage.

There’s more oil in the Arctic than any other oil reserve on the globe. Including Venezuela. The reserves are enormous.
The current governance status of every other Arctic nation is democratic. While US is a bit iffy these days, all others are examples of very successful welfare state social democracies with the highest levels of social and economic equity. Weird huh?
So that’s how Canada is related to Ukraine invasion. Part of NATO, one of the strongest western democracies, moderate equitable wealth distribution (until 2006 anyway). Harper really messed that up cutting social programs and transferring wealth to the already wealthy.
Remember how I’ve said Canada is one of the wealthiest nations? We are the wealthiest natural resource nation. More than Russia since we have fresh water, arable land lumber, minerals, gold, diamonds, a highly educated population & huge amounts of treaty/Crown land. Weird huh?
Putin wants to destroy democracy, NATO alliance, devastate European Union nations, eliminate the US as a hegemon and remove Canada as one of the strongest western democracies. This is not a secret. It’s public knowledge, or should be.
Now ask yourself…

Which political party platform most aligns and supports these well known Russian ambitions?

Russia would love nothing more than to create anarchy in Canada.

We know many of the “protesters” are American. How many are Russian? Familiar tactics?
Weird that Canadian and American Dominionist Christian “protesters” have adopted anti statist and anarchist beliefs in favour of biblical dominance over secular law?

That’s what this occupation is all about.

Flouting the rule of law.
It’s not Covid mandates that bother this deluded mob. It’s the legal ability of the federal government to impose mandates. Regardless of the reason.

This mob has been very CLEAR. Their ambition was to overthrow federal governance model & impose one of their own making.
The chants of “freedom” are not because Canadian freedoms have been removed, they’re demanding anarchistic freedom to self determine which laws they observe, which laws are ignored and which are rewritten by extortion and hostage taking.
Hey, isn’t that the whole gist of First Nations’ LANDBACK demands? So you think maybe that’s why so many are ADAMANT land acknowledgements are made? To remind Canadians they are on stolen property?
Isn’t Russ Diabo daily publishing manifestos demanding anarchism & dissolving Canada as a federation? Just hand the land back to FN who will then decentralize authority and impose their traditional laws and regulations? That is exactly what radical anti statist FN are demanding.
How many radicalized left libertarian progressives are cheering them on and have been paying weekly “rent” to FN in need?

Ask Terrill Tailfeathers. He set up the “Settler Saturday” transfer of wealth from guilt ridden white “progressives” to needy FN.
I wrote about the danger of this community in early to mid 2021. When Pastor Coates was refusing to follow mandates at the Grace Life Church in Parkland county immediately west of Edmonton, AB.

People ignored it. Several stopped following me. That didn’t deter me from writing.

I’m stunned that so many are falling for this type of opportunistic partisan & ideological analysis of the reaction of police.

It’s a clip of an interview taken out of context. Misrepresented and sold to the deluded masses of Dominionists and Q’Anon members as proof that WEF and Trudeau seek a new world order.

Thing is that’s true.
But it isn’t a conspiracy. WEF & Schwab have been quite overt in seeking to replace the neoliberal economic model because it doesn’t benefit anyone but the super wealthy.

Far from being a communist, Schwab & many actual modern economists are developing new models of governance.

Read his comments. It’s like they came out of Dr. Hinshaw’s and Jason Kenney’s mouths.

Oh wait. They basically did.
While the public grapples with the occupation of Canadian public spaces and the attack on our economy, Kenney has removed children’s mask mandates & expects post secondary to operate without masks.

Is this not the same policy that Paul Alexander promoted on the US last July?
That’s remarkably close to the date Kenney had originally planned to implement this strategy August 16, 2021 in Alberta. Infect all young people.

We must learn to live with covid.

If you read carefully, it’s a play by play of what’s happened in Canada as well as the US.

Neoliberalism (Brian Mulroney, Jean Chrétien). Austerity, build wealth for the wealthy, trickle down economics. Cut social programs, ignore climate.
Rise of extremism. In Canada it was Reform Party and Bloc Québécois. In the US the Tea Party and the Moral Majority.

Merge of extremists and neoliberals. And emergence of progressive left radicalization.
Then election of a disrupter. Harper in Canada and Trump in US.

The attack on foundations of democracy. Removal of institutional protections. (Media, law, social supports) advancement of economic policies favouring the wealthy.

Holy moly! I think I’ve gained over 300 followers in the last 3 days.

Welcome aboard folks.

I notice quite a few are American. I comment on American issues from time to time. But I’m focussed on Canadian politics mostly.

Occasionally I swear and have hissy fits.
This is stressful and generally unappreciated effort.

For people looking for answers, I don’t have any for what comes next.

That depends on what we as citizens who prefer democracy are willing to do.

I offer this parable as inspiration. Every effort makes a difference.
One person’s effort makes a small impact. But collectively, we can keep democracy alive.

So get out there and start throwing starfish back in the ocean. (Educate everyone you can about what is happening).

Starfish that want to die in the baking sun are not worth the effort.
