SCOOP: Insurrectionist attorney and voter suppression advocate Cleta Mitchell is holding election integrity summits in Georgia (2/18-2/19); Florida (3/25-3/26), and Pennsylvania (3/31). Mark Meadows is the keynote speaker for the Georgia event.

The events will focus on: "Forming State and Local Election Integrity Task Forces;” "Recruiting & Training Election Workers & Poll Watchers;” "Citizen Oversight of Voting Software, Equipment & Systems;” "Cleaning up voter rolls;” "Understanding absentee voting;” and more.
The voter suppression summits follow the Conservative Partnership Institute event held in early January.
The blueprint for the election integrity task forces is laid out in a “Citizens Guide to Building an Election Integrity Infrastructure.” CMD obtained and published this document which was passed out at a secret elections meeting at ALEC’s December meeting.

Indiana’s HB 1224, introduced on Jan. 6, has three authors, including Rep. Bob Heaton, who is a documented member of ALEC. In the bill’s first hearing, Brian Cantrell, senior VP and chief financial officer for Alliance Resource Partners testified in favor of the bill.

SCOOP: Insurrectionist attorney Cleta Mitchell brought together “leaders” from WI, TX, PA, NC, AZ, & FL on Jan 4-5 for a CPI voter suppression session featuring Tea Party Patriots Jenny Beth Martin, Ken Cuccinelli, & MAGA voter suppression center head Ken Blackwell.
Attendees received a copy of this “Citizens Guide to Building an Election Integrity Infrastructure, November 2021.” The Center for Media and Democracy obtained this document which was passed out at a secret elections meeting at ALEC’s December meeting.

NEW: RAGA reported $6.1 million in contributions in the second half of 2021, according to a year-end report examined by the Center for Media and Democracy. That’s down from the $6.6 million RAGA raised in the second half of 2019. (CORRECTION)

RAGA’s challenges to raise funds in the second half of 2021 followed a very difficult first half where the organization had to rely on $2.5 million from a dark money group run by Trump’s go-to man for packing the federal courts with right-wing judges.

The U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform, an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, topped all contributors to RAGA during the second half of 2021, donating $550,285 (or 9%) of its funding haul. The tobacco company Reynolds American contributed the second largest at $253K.

Sept 15-17, ALEC held a Life Sciences Academy “exclusive” for ALEC lawmakers. CMD obtained the invite & agenda. Heritage & Pacific Research Institute staff presented on drug pricing. Gene therapy, mental health, & patient access were also on the agenda.

SCOOP: The Republican gerrymandering operation Fair Lines America brought in $2.7 million to its 501c3 and 501c4 in 2020, IRS filings obtained and published by the Center for Media and Democracy detail. FLA’s leader Adam Kincaid is the GOP’s "chief authority on redistricting."
The 2020 IRS filing for Fair Lines America shows another $200K went to Magellan Strategies.
