The crisis facing Europe makes an incapable, unfit PM, reviled by key international allies, an even more unacceptable threat than it already was, to the security, prosperity & well-being of GB & NI.

Time for action, @Keir_Starmer & true political leaders.

The largest group of Westminster MPs which still supports constitutional, liberal democracy, is led by @Keir_Starmer.

He should now become PM, backed by the majority of MPs across the Commons who also do so.

Including a third of Conservative MPs.

And all opposition MPs. /2.

With the possible exception of the DUP parliamentary group. Up to them to decide whose side they’re on.

The time for party politics is over. For some years.

Our survival’s at stake. /3.

Sitting in Edinburgh, I respectfully say to my MSP @AngusRobertson, @Ianblackford_MP & @theSNP more widely, the future of all GB & NI is fundamental to the future of Scotland.

I well understand the dismay of people in Scotland watching a descent into dark chaos in England. /4.

I also recognise the deeper roots of support for independence among many in Scotland.

Everyone in GB & NI needs unity of purpose & action by the democratic forces which remain in the majority at Westminster.

We can no longer assume that majority will automatically continue. /5.

Fight for & join a united, democratic coalition at Westminster.

For the whole of GB & NI.

Without pre-conditions on independence.

It matters not just to Scotland.

Not just to GB & NI.

But to our friends & neighbours in Europe & beyond. /6.

And @Keir_Starmer, @EdwardJDavey & other Westminster colleagues, don’t set pre-conditions yourselves.

The crisis on our continent, & the assault on GB & NI by the worst government in a least a century, creates an acutely dangerous, historic moment.

Rise to it.
