If it's your very first time opening Bubble, you should start here. What better way to learn about how a platform works than from the folks who built it
This channel helped me solve a lot of issues in Bubble, and I suspect it helped a ton of other builders given how popular it is. They have a mix of short and long-form content for a variety of features
I've spent so much time on Buildcamp's YouTube, and I go back to it again and again. Super clear, step-by-step explanations. Also, the video quality is top-notch.
If you're into clones like I am, this is the channel for you. Lachlan walks you through the process of building a variety of different clone systems in Bubble, with super clear explanations.
He doesn't seem to post a lot these days, but when I first started, his videos were helpful for my niche problems. Lots of what is discussed/shared is evergreen so worth checking out anyway
If you prefer written tutorials, Himanshu has some fantastic content on his Medium. He's actually the first search result for a few things I googled. He breaks things down super well.
There's a very high likelihood that any problem you're facing in Bubble has been solved by someone before. There's also a rather high likelihood that there's a forum post about it. If you find yourself stuck, this should be your go-to
Marty has some really great long-form content on different 'how to' scenarios in Bubble - especially around payments. If you're building a SaaS or any product that will accept payments, this is worth checking out
Speaking of payments and Saas, James has a substack that's all about building SaaS applications. If you're serious about building a product with recurring revenue in Bubble, you should definitely subscribe to it!
A shameless plug: I write a newsletter with long-form content on how to build in Bubble. I'll be ramping up the content here once I'm done with the TikTok clone. All of what I share is derived from lessons learned building the clones!
I hope this was helpful! If you have any other resources you'd recommend, feel free to drop them below :)
Also, like and retweet the first tweet in this thread if you found value in it!
Figma Community has a wealth of design resources that are shared freely by the community. You can find UI templates, illustrations, mockup files, and more! I've used it a few times, especially for the iPhone and laptop mockups.
A lot of folks have made a new year's resolution to get started on #nocode and learning @bubble
To help you hit the ground running, here's a crash course of the different layout types in the new responsive engine (with examples at the end!) A thread 🧵
Last year, Bubble introduced 4 new layout options: Rows, Columns, Align to Parent and Fixed.
These are part of what's known as flexbox - a layout method that gives you a lot of flexibility in structuring web pages and organizing elements.
These options make designing in Bubble much simpler, but they may be hard to grasp at first.
It's first important to understand that these options define how content *inside* a container is organized.
I started reading 'The psychology of Money' last night.
I loved it for its practicality, its brevity, and the examples shared of the good and bad ways people have treated money.
Finished it all in one sitting.
Some takeaways:
'One of the most powerful ways to increase your savings isn't to raise your income. It's to raise your humility'
Basically, avoid airs and graces, or inclinations to flaunt money.
'The world is filled with people who look modest but are actually wealthy'
'When people say they want to be a millionaire, what they might actually mean is "I'd like to spend a million dollars." And that is literally the opposite of being a millionaire.'
Wealth is more about what you don't spend than what you do.
Here's the thread on how I made my custom icons work in Bubble.
I will note, this process would be easier to do with a plugin, but since I don't know how to build plugins in Bubble (yet) I've figured out a way to do it without a plugin.
