Enactivism sees a person with a lived experience (embodied) within a lived world (embedded), acting in particular ways (enacting) with emotions and an extended mind.

This allows us to account for the lived experience of the person suffering persistent pain in a way that ‘pain in the brain does not’.
Reducing the pain experience to anything less than the whole person in a world, in a situation, is like baking a cake with just an egg.
