They know children w/IEPs cost, on average, 7 times more to educate than non-disabled students in the US. In order to profit off education, they have to eliminate federal laws forcing schools to accept & accommodate disabled students, hence their goal of defanging IDEA & ADA 3/5
“School choice” is a grotesquely ableist movement. Many parents of disabled kids have been sucked in with promises of more services in segregated settings that never materialize once excluded. Moreover, they sell the erroneous claim disabled kids are better off un-included. 4/5
School choice is a euphemism for privatizing and placing a profit motive on education. When there’s a profit motive on fundamental human rights, like healthcare or education, it’s disabled and marginalized people who suffer most. We can’t discard humans for needing more help 5/5
