@annamalai_k the Man to follow in Tamil Nadu's Politics! Probably is a bit too early to call him the Yogi Adityanath of Tamilnadu! 😍 Honest and dedicated to serving the people.
(A note that I received on WA!)
Many times I feel that all state elections are different and have three components
●Fundamentals
●Perception
●Engineering
K. Annamalai, is truly a transformational leader who is focused on fundamentals. He is a Change Leader.
He doesn't shout Modi Modi all the time and ride on his back but creates new ground for the organization by tangible work
Sample changes in Tamil Nadu are visible. DMK lost deposits in 60 wards despite its 13 Party Grand Alliance.
DMK got one vote in a ward in Eraniel. BJP won in Eraniel by massive margin.
BJP comes to power in Thenthamaraikulam Town Panchayat by crossing the majority mark.
BJP wins in Tambaram, Chennai which is DMK stronghold ever since its formation.
BJP wins 7 out of 11 wards in Pudupatti municipality in Theni.
Kamal Haasan’s MNM candidate polled “0” votes in Ward No.1 in Sivagangai town.😂🤣
An old post from FB by Dilip Menezes that shows what is actually true India. Do read:
While riding early morning from Narsipatnam to Lambasingi I stopped at a village for breakfast. There was a table set out outside a hut along the village road and an old man was making tea.
I asked for a cup of tea and something to eat. The old man pointed to the tea and then said something in his local language that I didn't understand. I made the sign for food and he turned to his wife who was standing close by.
She pointed me to a bench outside their hut, asked me to sit down and went inside the hut. After a few moments she emerged with a place of idlis and chutney which I enjoyed along with the tea.
After I was done I asked the old man how much I owed him and he said "5 rupees".
#mahabharata
When Bhagwan Krishna returned home after the battle of Mahabharata, his wife Rukmani confronted him “How could you be party to the killing of Guru Drona and Bheeshma, who were such righteous people and had a lifetime of righteousness behind them.”
Initially Bhagwan Krishna avoided her questions but when she did not relent, he replied “No doubt they had a lifetime of rightousness behind them but they both had committed one single sin that destroyed all their lifetime of righteousness”
Rukmani asked “And what was that sin?”
Then Krishna replied “They were both present in the court when a lady (Draupadi) was being disrobed and being elders they had the authority to stop it but they did not. This single crime is enough to destroy all righteousness of this world”
#Thiruvempavai#திருவெம்பாவை Tamil Nadu has given India a lot by way of Bhakti movements from time immemorial.
A short thread based on my understanding. Today also is the day of #ArudraDarshan#Thiruvadhirai - a big festival and celebration in Kerala and TN

Above image is of Brihadeeswara Temple, Tamil Nadu. It is said, having a darshan of Gopuram itself is a blessing.
Paavai Genre: Paavai songs are part of an ancient tradition amongst unmarried young girls, where they would light lamps in the early mornings of Margazhi and sing songs in praise of Bhagawan Shiva or Bhagawan Krishna (or may be both).
Eponym - When something is named after a person or a place or a company, we call that name an eponym. A short but interesting thread. For instance, did you know that the word sideburns is an eponym?
1. Named after Ambrose Burnside. Let's look at some examples. He was an American railroad executive, soldier, industrialist, and politician whose distinctive facial hair inspired the word sideburns.
2. Alois Alzheimer is credited with identifying "presenile dementia," which was later named Alzheimer’s disease after him. 3. Boycott is derived from an English land agent named Captain Charles C. Boycott who treated Irish badly and so was ostracized or “boycotted” by the them.
Listen to this person talking as what is UP, especially Gorakhpur before and after @myogiadityanath . His clarity is clear. Bonus the passion, the Hindi that he speaks. Video originally shared by @yoginisd . In 3 parts.
A WA forward on what #YogiAdityanath has done for UP:
Last 5 years of UP:
Expressways started in 2008 when Mayawati started constructing Yamuna Expressway connecting Noida to Agra - It was her dream project of 166 KM. That’s UP for you 👏👏
then came Akhilesh Yadav who started Lucknow Metro and did 90% work on Agra - Lucknow expressway connecting Yamuna Expressway to Lucknow of 302 KM.
