Thinking of baby Foxxian, who finds an injured baby Dragonji. Foxxian scoops up the tiny noodle and takes it back to his den to look after it!

He's getting to be a big strong fox, and he's VERY proud of his hunting skills! He tries to show off for his new noodle friend!

But it's hit-or-miss.

Dragonji likes the fruit, nuts, and roots that Foxxian scavenges!

But when Foxxian proudly brings a big fat mouse back to the den, Dragonji just goes 😖

Foxxian has to eat the mouse all by himself. Then he has to wash himself off THOROUGHLY before he's allowed to snuggle with his noodle friend. 🥺

And when Foxxian spots a rabbit and drops into his Hunting Pose (head down, butt wiggling, ready to pounce!), Dragonji SCREAMS.

Small noodle friend has big lungs!! 😵‍💫

Foxxian's ears are ringing for the next hour, but he gets the message: no bunnies on the menu today! Only more of those loquats that his noodle friend likes so much!

Foxxian is proud of his skills as a physician, too!

He saved injured noodle friend all by himself!! He licked Dragonji's wounds five times a day to keep them clean and make them heal! 👅

Noodle friend was confused by that at first. (It's not how dragons treat injuries!)

But he got with the program. Now he licks Foxxian five times a day too, with his little lizardy tongue.

Foxxian doesn't have the heart to admit that he's not injured, so he doesn't really NEED that much grooming.

Sometimes, Foxxian pretends that he injured his paw so he can get extra noodle licks!

He just sits down beside Noodleji, holds out his paw, and makes the 🥺 face.

And boom: noodle friend gives free a grooming session!

...I assume that Dragonji's family is looking for him, frantically.

I assume that he was injured in some accident, and his brother and uncle have been tearing the world apart trying to find him ever since.

But Dragonji has kinda decided that he simply lives in this little packed-earth den in the woods now.

He simply lives with his fox friend who brings him berries and licks him and lets Dragonji burrow into his fur when it's cold!

And when the Lans do find him and try to retrieve him...RIP.

Please enjoy the mental image of LQR trying to stick his hand into Foxxian's den to fish out his wayward nephew.

Enjoy the mental image of Foxxian biting LQR bloody, while Dragonji screams at the tops of his lungs.

Anyway, the Lans DO get Dragonji back...eventually.

But they have to take his emotional support fox with them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Forgot to mention that they're supposed to be shapeshifters in this. 😅

But I think Dragonji likes to stay in his noodle form whenever he can, because being a human child is simply Too Complicated.

And I think Foxxian has been in his fox form for a long time, because it's easier to survive on your own in that form.

So when LQR takes them back home and instructs them to shift back into human form, they're both just like, "No. ❤️"

And they stay in noodle-and-fox form for at least the next six months.

Noodleji rides around on Foxxian's back while Foxxian digs in the garden, sneaks into the kitchens, pokes around the classrooms, and just generally Creates Chaos in Cloud Recesses.

Eventually, Foxxian feels comfortable enough to shift, so Dragonji follows suit.

And LQR is like, "Finally. Now we can bring them up as proper CHILDREN and not feral creatures. 😮‍💨"

...PSYCH, baby WWX is still totally feral! And baby LWJ just sticks to him like glue!

Catch the babies running around Cloud Recesses, hand in hand, completely naked, off to dig in the dirt together!!

(Hey, they didn't have to wear clothes in fox-and-noodle form! They don't see why they have to wear clothes NOW. Being human is a scam!!)

...And something something, they were childhood sweethearts, etc.

WWX and LWJ continue to lick each other for grooming-and-comfort purposes, until they're about sixteen, and the licking becomes something else altogether. 😳

At that point, they decide that clothes ARE a scam.

Naked licking is where it's AT!!

And then they get married and live happily and chaotically ever after, the end!
