I think it would be funny if LWJ and WWX work in the same office, but different departments. Their paths don't cross all that often, but it doesn't stop WWX from developing a BIG crush on LWJ.

LWJ is notoriously aloof and standoffish! He despises small talk!

But it takes remarkably little provocation to make him talk about his 'A-Yuan'.

A-Yuan is so clever. A-Yuan is so kind. A-Yuan is so generous.

A-Yuan gave him the most beautiful flowers for their anniversary!

(The anniversary of when LWJ adopted him!

A-Yuan raided LXC's garden for those flowers. NMJ helped him pick them.

Because A-Yuan isn't allowed to use scissors yet.

Because he's four years old.

WWX does not know this, and it genuinely doesn't occur to LWJ to mention it.)

WWX: ...Ah. I See. Of course, a person like Lan Zhan is already taken. At least his boyfriend treats him well. 🥲

I imagine they manage to string out the Comedic Misunderstandings for quite a while!

WWX doesn't want to seem like a jealous weirdo, so he makes sure to tell LWJ to have 'a great weekend with A-Yuan'! He tells LWJ to give A-Yuan his 'best wishes' whenever a holiday comes up.

LWJ is not sure if his coworker is just being kind, or if he's trying to indicate a deeper interest in their little family! 😳

He hasn't even THOUGHT of dating since he adopted A-Yuan. But what if WWX is actually interested in dating a single father??

Anyway. The day comes when A-Yuan's preschool is closed on a day LWJ has to work, so he brings his son into the office with him.

WWX promptly has several heart attacks.

OH NO.

He hasn't just been nursing a seething crush on someone who's already in a relationship.

He's been crushing on someone who's MARRIED WITH A KID.

He's a scumbag!! 😭

But he swallows his mortification and slinks over to say hi.

He crouches down and asks the little boy what his name is.

A-Yuan proudly informs WWX that he is, in fact, named A-Yuan.

WWX:

WWX: O-oh! Haha, I see. You named him after your husband, eh? That's cute! 🥲

LWJ: ...

LWJ: my what

WWX: Your...husband? You know! Because you talk about your 'A-Yuan' all the time...

LWJ: ...Yes? Of course I do. I am very proud of my son. *puts his hand on A-Yuan's head*

A-Yuan: 🧍

LWJ: No.

WWX: A NONBINARY LIFE-PARTNER?!?!

LWJ: No.

A-Yuan, internally: This guy Baba likes is kind of dumb. 😑 Baba has bad taste in men. 😑 Well, I suppose no one is perfect. 😑

WWX: THEN!! DO YOU AND A-YUAN WANT TO GO GET SOME ICE CREAM AFTER WORK!!!

LWJ:

WWX: 😭🥺🙌

A-Yuan, internally: ...SMH. The ridiculous things I have to witness with my innocent four-year-old eyes. I'm getting a double-dip with extra sprinkles, and I'm gonna make sure this guy pays for it. 🙄

And they lived happily ever after, the end!

Condolences to A-Yuan, because this definitely isn't the last time he has to witness his dads being stupid for each other. 😔🙏
