CJI: we cannot stay the election process

Sr Adv Devadatt Kamat: there are observations made in HC order. please leave all rights and contentions open in view of fresh ordinance.

Kamat: purity of elections has to be maintained. Delimitation exercise inputs cannot be leaked to political parties. SEC on affidavit has agreed that there has been a leak. sec has a duty to maintain secrecy of the process

Sr Adv Sanjay Hegde: Under central delimitation act when constituencies are reserved and when there is large SC population, what is happening in maharashtra they can take care of it. But with larger population it becomes an issue.

Hedge: as long as fresh delimitation exercise is not conducted ..

CJI: We cannot hear how many SC ST people are there you see..

CJI: SEC has submitted that this is infructuous in view of fresh ordinance and fresh delimitation process was conducted. we vacate the interim order directions and dispose off the slp with following directions:

CJI: It has been alleged that delimitation process input was leaked to political parties. SEC is directed to take necessary steps so that such instance is not repeated in the future

CJI: Mr Hegde conducts recognition of wards has not been proper and SEC says proper process will be held and due opportunity to be heard will be granted. Thus, with this SLP stands disposed off.
