This morning’s spending bill makes some important investments, but the funding we need to help address our sexual and reproductive health and rights crisis is nowhere near where we need it to be.
While the spending bill doesn't provide essential new investments in sexual & reproductive health care...
...It DOES fail to permanently end the #GlobalGagRule & the Hyde Amendment, which together put the reproductive health care we all deserve out of reach for millions.
We cannot accept our health and rights being used as a bargaining chip by those who want to control our bodies and our futures.
Thank you to our champions, who are still fighting to protect and expand sexual and reproductive health care here & globally.

Millions of people in 26 states could lose the right to legal abortion if Roe is overturned. Stay tuned the next few weeks to hear from some of the people working fearlessly to get you the health care you deserve ❤️
#SB8’s signing comes two days after the Supreme Court’s announcement that it will consider a Mississippi case challenging a ban on abortion after 15 weeks — putting Roe v. Wade in danger and 25 million people at risk of losing abortion access.
In 2021, legislators obsessed with attacking and undermining abortion access & reproductive freedom introduced more than 500 anti-abortion bills.
We will *never* stop fighting back against this cruel extremism and will do everything we can to ensure access to reproductive care.
🙌GREAT NEWS! The Biden-Harris admin just proposed ending the Title X gag rule! This dangerous policy undermines the only federal program dedicated to providing sexual and reproductive health care to people with low incomes.
Ending this gag rule is HUGE! Why? The gag rule was designed to block access to @PPFA and other providers, creating barriers to reproductive health care, especially for those facing systemic barriers: people in rural areas, and Black, Latino, and Indigenous communities.
The gag rule slashed the Title X network’s patient capacity in half. The harm of this policy was devastating before — now COVID has revealed just how important reproductive health care is tied to our communities’ health and safety.
Sex education is more than just putting condoms on bananas. Sex education is a foundation for our development as people. We know — it sounds totally awkward to talk about this with your fam. Don’t worry! We’ve got you ⤵️

Extreme and biased: Sarah Pitlyk has gone on the record against alternative reproductive options, such as surrogacy and in vitro fertilization. She can’t be trusted to protect our health and rights. #StopPitlyk#CourtsMatter
We need judges who will protect our constitutional rights — not Steven Menashi who has spent his career working against them. Senators must stop his confirmation. #StopMenashi#CourtsMatter
For the first time in nearly 50 years, Planned Parenthood is being forced out of the Title X program, meaning people across the country who are already struggling to make ends meet might not be able to access the care they need.
It’s not just Planned Parenthood. Seven states and the only Title X grantee in Maine have also made clear they CANNOT stay in the program under the gag rule — together with Planned Parenthood, they serve nearly HALF the patients in the program. #ProtectX
Trump’s gag rule is destroying the nation’s decades-old program for affordable birth control and reproductive health care. While the Trump administration may have given up on you, we NEVER will — we’re doing everything we can to make sure patients don’t lose care. #IStandWithPP
