Why EVM ?

For each national election, About 25,000 tonnes of the ballot paper is saved. EVMs are easier to transport compared to ballot boxes as they are lighter, more portable, Vote counting is faster.

In defense of India’s EVMs, the machines cannot be tampered with, either through the internet or bluetooth. They’re kept separate from other machines. but it can be hacked in booth level by simply replacing EPROM ( Storage chip ) .
