.@RepCawthorn is having the worst week since his inauguration. Let’s talk about the nation’s youngest member of Congress. With any luck, it’ll help his constituents vote him out of office in November (assuming he’s even on the ballot since he’s constitutionally ineligible)
THREAD
Just this week:
—He was charged for driving with a revoked driver’s license (2nd time in 5 years)
—A recent video surfaced in which he called Ukrainian President Zelensky a “thug.” He also called the Ukrainian government corrupt
—He called @SpeakerPelosi an alcoholic/drug addict
Cawthorn’s past is a veritable minefield of lies, misogyny, treason, and serious criminal accusations/behavior.

From sexual harassment and assault to stolen valor to inciting an insurrection to attempting to take a firearm onto an airplane, this guy belongs nowhere near Congress

Republicans are attacking Biden, which helps Putin

They’re blocking Biden’s nominees to critical diplomatic and security posts, which helps Putin

They’re disobeying direct instructions from our ambassadors not to share sensitive intel, which helps Putin
#GOPtheRussianParty
They helped incite an attack on our Capitol to end democracy, which is Putin’s exact goal in Ukraine

They’re limiting access to voting across the country to steal back the House in November

They still support the guy who called Putin’s invasion of Ukraine “genius” & “wonderful”
They continue to pass bills that attack and endanger trans people, who Putin hates

They continue to roll back reproductive rights for women, which is what Putin has done

They continue to attack our education system by banning books and whitewashing history, just like Putin

Trump recently claimed “There would be no NATO if I didn’t act strongly and swiftly! Let history so note!”

Trump’s actual history with NATO both before and during his term notes the exact opposite.

Let’s recap. Keep in mind weakening NATO has been one of Putin’s primary goals.
In one of Trump’s books published in 2000–‘The America We Deserve’—Trump claimed that the money we invest in NATO was a complete waste.

“America has no vital interest in choosing between warring factions whose animosities go back centuries in Eastern Europe,” he wrote.
During the 2016 election, Trump repeatedly exaggerated the U.S. contribution to NATO.

Then when he took office, he claimed that “hundreds of billions” of dollars had gone to NATO because of him, even suggesting some of the funds were provided to the U.S. None of this was true.

#G7 statement on #PutinsWar:
We, the Leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) are appalled by and condemn the large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, directed partly from Belarusian soil.
This unprovoked and completely unjustified attack on the democratic state of Ukraine was preceded by fabricated claims and unfounded allegations. It constitutes a serious violation of international law and a grave breach of the United Nations Charter and all commitments.
Russia entered in the Helsinki Final Act and the Charter of Paris and its commitments in the Budapest Memorandum. We as the G7 are bringing forward severe and coordinated economic and financial sanctions. We call on all partners and members of the international community to

I’m going to start putting together a thread of @GOP officials using their elected office to attack their own country during a crisis. Let’s start with the abomination that is @RepStefanik.
