I have been in Sana since not long after the IPO. I think Steve Harr has done an outstanding job so far developing the science and business. He picked up a key license from Beam for CRISPR CAS12b for editing of the iPSC cells.

2/ Science
They have 2 very incredible platforms that complement each other with delivery using Fusogen and Cell engineering using iPSC and CRISPR technology.

3/ This company is all about cell engineering. The fusogen is a ligand guided vector for delivery. They are developing this for in-vivo cell editing. They are working on using it for in-vivo CAR-T cell editing.
4/ They early preclinical work shows good T cell editing using fusogen to create CD19 CAR-T cells that clear tumors without the need for any lymphodepletion. This could be a really big game changer if it continues to work in humans.
5/ The other programs are about building hypoimmune iPSC cells for development as CAR-T cells, islet cells, Glial cells, hepatocytes and even cardiomyocytes.
6/ This is all about regenerative medicines like their first target that is creating islet cells for diabetes with complete immune evasion.
7/ Potential
I think Sana has one of the largest potentials of any biotech company I have ever come across assuming the science works out. They could do a few billion in the immune cells with CAR-T and other in-vivo deliveries using fusogen.

8/ They regenerative medicines with hypoimmune cells could be worth tens of billions across, immune, stem cells, hepatocytes, islet cells, glial cells and cardiomyocytes. This is still very early with only preclinical data, but it has the most potential of any biotech company.

I think Sana is extremely cheap at just over $1.2 billion market cap. They have over $740 million cash and burned about $240 million in 2020. I think $50 million of that was for the upfront payment of Beam for the license of CRISPR.

10/ They are still very early, but we will continue to see a lot of animal data as they move their programs toward the clinic. Their fist IND for in-vivo and ex-vivo CAR-T programs will be in 2022.
