He was taken to the gym in the factory in Aktobe and locked up for 12 days. On 19 January they were released early. According to Alibek, the authorities sent 30 provocateurs to Aktobe city to discredit the peaceful rally.

Alibek also reports that his relative Faizullah #Nurguldin died from a stun grenade while attending a peaceful rally on 5 January. The grenade hit him on the head and he died after two hospital visits.
