Starting internship? Aiming to get a decent rank in NEET PG/NEXT 2023?
Congratulations on passing one of the toughest exams i have ever given in my life.
Keep one thing in mind - the movie begins now!
The internship/1st attempt is usually the best attempt!
A thread 1/n
Make sure you are well aware of the internship schedule for the entire year, which postings? What duties will be heavy? Where you will get more time to study?
Eg. I had casualty in March 2021 and Medicine in May 2021 - so i knew i shouldn't be harsh on myself if i can't study 2/
Consistency >>>>>
One thing that will be the gamechanger is trying to do a little each day, and by the end of 8-10months you will be shocked to see how far you have reached. Don't get overwhelmed initially.
There will be days/weeks where you won't feel like studying, 3/
Therefore whenever you feel good, whenever you are in good shape, in good form make the best use of it!
Eg. Virat Kohli - despite last scoring a century 2 years back, his average is above 50 in all formats. Because in his prime, he was ruthless! 4/
Resources
Decide one good platform be it @damsdelhi, @DRoundsMarrow, @unacademy or anything for each subject and stick to it, right till the very end!
Revisions, revisions, revisions and revisions are more important than trying new sources! 5/
Like by the time i gave my NEET PG, because of the delay, i knew exactly how i would revise each subject, from where will I read what etc. And not trying new sources despite time only helped more. With internship the main target is to have great efficiency! 6/
Questions and GTs
Start solving 50 questions each day from the very first day, even while you are on duty, make it a habit to solve Marrow/PrepL/dams etc when you are just sitting not going any work. Trust me, when aggregated it turns out to be a huge chunk. 7/
GTs
Usually we are afraid to start giving GTs thinking we have still not completed the portion. You are never going to feel complete.
So start as soon as you can.
For me i started quite early, as soon as I was done with the first reading of my weak subjects! 8/
The more questions you solve, the more tests you give, you will be able to find your weaknesses, strengths, topics which are in short term memory/long term memory etc!
No matter how many times I read it - I knew I had to revise biochem max 3days before the exam! 9/
Discussion
Have a real good friend circle around you, like minded motivated people. On days when you alone aren't in the shape, only they can help. On days when you are totally out, they will help you in their boat. So don't be alone! It's a tough battle to win alone! 10/
Images and Clinical aspects
Keep your eyes, ears and mind open always! Wherever you are in the ward/ hospital/opds! Always continuously try to grasp whatever you can, ask questions to your seniors!
If doing an ABG, try to yourself read the report and come to a conclusion.11/
While a senior orders a new sample for a new investigation, politely ask, sir/ma'am why are we doing Serum Procal? Why are we doing CPK? Can you please explain. Don't just mechanically do your duties and come back. I found out about PMJAY when i was in casualty, won't forget. 12/
Images
Click pictures of Xray, CTs, MRI films you are sent to trace if at all. Tell the residents to please explain if any finding.
We gujjus have a saying - " maiga wina maa pan na aape "
This is true now forever, no one will teach you unless you ask them too.
13/
Social Media
Use it only if you are able to increase your performance because of it, if you feel sad seeing other people's lives, don't see it. Your life will be much much greater once you crack this exam and are in your dream branch, in a good institute! 14/
Breaks and Hobbies
It is going to be a long exhausting year. Nothing is tougher than doing duties and studying for such a huge competitive exam. So do take frequent breaks and come back stronger. Don't forget what makes you happy. 15/
I used to play cricket/ football/ PUBG/ atleast once a week throughout the year. We are humans, not machines. We have emotions, we have desires. After playing cricket for 2hrs, all my frustrations would vanish. I used to tell myself, 6days to go, will get to play again. 16/
Family and Friends
It is tough for people not involved in this rat race to understand what is going on. It is your duty to patiently explain that this exam is way tougher and important than whatever exam you have given in the past. This will decide your career if not life. 17/
Make them understand that you will be requiring help every few days, the last thing you want is any angry parent or friend. They should be your foremost support system. They will stand when you have given up on yourself. 18/
The entire NEET PG is a beautiful journey, i have also shared a lot of tips on my YT channel. Do have a look.
Please share and retweet if you find it useful.
All the best🤘

We welcome all the awareness about #COVID19 and the change it has brought in the way masses give importance to healthcare. But what is silently eating poor people of India? It's much more morbid than COVID, it's #tuberculosis !
