I come from a masternode background, ran a project that was masternode and pos, wrote scripts, wrote guides, you name it.

2/ 99% of these NaaS projects aren't true nodes. That's the first thing you need to realize.

What is a true node you ask?

A node is a validator on the blockchain.

Some of their jobs are:
• Process Transactions
• Keep a record of all TXs
• Network Security and Concensus

3/ The list goes on, but the important thing to know is they serve an actual purpose for their parent blockchain.

$DASH is probably the most known masternode project. $PIVX $FIRO $SYS to name a few others.

The collateral concept behind NaaS and MNs are essentially the same
