As we learn about Stephen Miller's 1/6 testimony, keep in mind that the DC municipal permit for the rally at the Ellipse *specifically* denied permission for a march to the Capitol.

PRE-rally advertising included the word "march." That should have been confronted before 1/6.

Another key moment exposing TFG's criminal intent was that Pence's letter saying NO, was released (IIRC) on the morning of 1/6, before the Ellipse rally.

Obvious right then that Pence could not be intimidated to do TFG's bidding in this.

TFG continued to incite the "march."

The content of TFG's speech alone incriminates him, when you consider these matters that were public knowledge at the time.

A lot of the supposed bombshell revelations we're getting now were public knowledge.

The legal "plans" were circulating on Twitter in Dec. I saw them.

The last chance for TFG to try to hold on to power was December 14, 2020, when the lawful Electoral College electors gathered in their state legislative chambers to record the election results.

After that point, the public attempts to challenge the result were inappropriate.

The ongoing litigation inevitably failed. Ahead of 1/6, the only people with any kind of lawful power to mount challenges were the 1 Senator and 1 Rep who could move to challenge a state's result during the joint session.

People like Cruz promised to do that. Then backed down.

The absolute dumbasses outside the Capitol listening to TFG's speech online moved before the Republican Sedition Caucus even got a chance to challenge the results inside the building.

TFG had NO intention of joining in even the "march," preferring to watch the spectacle on TV.

The timing of each suspect's actions that day is critical to determining their individual criminal intent & culpability.

I fully understand the growing pessimism of pro-democracy Americans about the upper echelons ever being indicted. Maybe it's different for me as a foreigner.

I feel relatively safe here in NZ. I am privileged. But my keen interest in these matters continues, because every country in the world will suffer if these fascists succeed in destroying American democracy.

And if Rs control the House in Jan 2023, aid to Ukraine will stop.

I do see credible signs that the US DOJ is investigating TFG over 1/6 (and more), and that the many others involved in that shameful day are also in their sights. Revealing it now would destroy their chances of securing convictions. I hate being asked to show patience. Totally.

In the past week or so I've decided to stop freaking out about the lack of significant public action by the DOJ.

Garland is not an idiot. Nor is he disloyal to the Constitution. Y'all were fine with him being appointed a SCOTUS Justice for life. His loyalty has not changed.

The signs of progress toward achieving justice for 1/6 are getting stronger by the week.

I cannot spare one more minute of my limited emotional energy on it, when the ongoing pandemic, war in Europe, and multiple other threats demand my attention.

What will be, will be.

As Americans, the best thing you can do for democracy at home is volunteering to help

▶️get out the vote (GOTV)

That's what has always worked & it's desperately needed in the 2022 midterms. We must defy history together. And, #YesWeCan.
