Remember this Kenyan runner Abel Mutai who was just a few feet from the finish line, but became confused with the signage and stopped, thinking he had completed the race. A Spanish runner, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him and, realizing what was happening,

started shouting at the Kenyan to continue running. Mutai didn't know Spanish and didn't understand. Realizing what was taking place, Fernandez pushed Mutai to victory.

A journalist asked Ivan, "Why did you do that?"

Ivan replied, "My dream is that someday we can have a kind of community life where we push and help each other to win."
The journalist insisted "But why did you let the Kenyan win?" Ivan replied, "I didn't let him win, he was going to win. The race was his."

This is Matrix movie star Keanu Reeves. He was abandoned by his father at 3 years old and grew up with 3 different stepfathers. He is dyslexic. His dream of becoming a hockey player was shattered by a serious accident. His daughter died at birth. His wife died in a car accident.

When Valmiki completed his Ramayana, Narada wasn't impressed. 'It is good, but Hanuman's is better', he said.

'Hanuman has written the Ramayana too!', Valmiki didn't like this at all, and wondered whose Ramayana was better.

So he set out to find Hanuman.

In Kadali-vana, grove of plantains, he found Ramayana inscribed on seven broad leaves of a banana tree.

He read it and found it to be perfect. The most exquisite choice of grammar and vocabulary, metre and melody. He couldn't help himself. He started to cry.

'Because after reading your Ramayana no one will read my Ramayana,' replied Valmiki.

2nd Sept 2010, 35-yr old ex-soldier Bishnu Shrestha going home, after retiring as a Naik in Gurkha infantry, Indian army.

In midnight train suddenly stopped at dense jungles of West Bengal.

40 armed men came inside from every direction, they stole wallets, laptops, cash, jewelry, soldier was watching everything.

Bishnu remained quiet until the robbers turned their attention towards 18-yr-old girl & tried to gang-rape her in front of parents.

At that point, Bishnu couldn’t tolerate it anymore, he took out his Khukri attacked the robbers like a brave Gurkha soldier.

He caught hold of woman’s attacker & used him as a human shield. After that, he killed 3 thieves & severely injured 8 others.

A recipient of Best Librarian in India Award, Cambridge honored him as one of the ‘noblest men of the world’ and the UN recognised him as one of the most outstanding people of 20th century.

A lot of us may not be aware of existence of this noble man: Shri Palam Kalyanasundaram

Every month in his 30 year experience (service as a Librarian), he donated his entire salary to help the needy. He worked as a waiter in a hotel to meet his needs. He even donated his entire pension amount of over ₹ 10 lakhs to the needy.

He is the first person in the world to spend the entire earnings for a social cause. In recognition to his service, the American Govt honoured him with the ‘Man of the Millennium’ award. He received a sum of Rs 30 Crs as part of this award which he distributed entirely too.

By-poll for Maharashtra assembly seat Pandharpur was held recently.

The region has been NCP stronghold & even the massive Modi wave had zero impact here.

For the bypoll, BJP fielded its candidate while from Maha Vikas Aghadi, a NCP candidate was fielded.

This means it was BJP vs NCP+SS+INC in a seat which is NCP stronghold.

So it was obvious that MVA wud hv won easily. Popular NCP leaders like Ajit Pawar campaigned here in full swing. Fadnavis meanwhile campaigned for BJP candidate.

Now, unexpected happened. BJP won the seat.

3 out of the 4 main parties of a state fight in a seat together, that too a seat that is stronghold of one of those parties. They cud hv easily polled 60% votes, but they end up losing to 4th party (BJP), which had negligible presence here.
