Sundara Kandam of Ramayana is considered as the most important section of Ramayana and reading this is supposed to be very beneficial. Whenever possible, and during Navrati, it has been my endeavor to read this.

Reading it twice in a year might sound repetitive but every single reading enables me to refresh certain points about thought processes that, we as individuals, must engage in to have clarity.

As we all know, Bhagawan Hanuman, went to Lanka crossing the sea and landed there.

What did he thereafter? He did not launch himself straightaway into searching for Sita Devi. But, rather he thought through as to what is his mission in Lanka.

1. Hanuman thought: "How would the forces of Bhagawan Rama come to Lanka (how can they cross the sea? Even if they come, how are they going to fight the mighty forces of Ravana? Ravana is blessed with many powers and is very powerful."

"How can one divert the attention of the Rakshas, who have it all and everything in their lives? He thought that only Jamabavan, Angadha and few others do have it in them who can come on their own."

"But first things first, let me find out if Sita Devi is alive or not. If she is alive, will think about next steps."

2. Hanuman's immediate concerns: a. When and at what time to enter Lanka and in what shape, size? Can't be too big like as, then, I can't avoid Rakshsas, who are protecting Lanka, who will not allow me to move around easily. I have to be deceptive.

Whatever shape and size I take, it should aid and assist me in the purpose for which I came to Lanka. If I adopt a very small size then I can't search entire Lanka as well. As I have to do my search without being observed, it will be better if I enter Lanka at night time.

3. Once Vayuputra Hanuman arrived at a conclusion as to when to enter Lanka and in what shape and size, the next issue that came to his mind was how to search without creating any problems to the name of Bhagawan Rama.

I have come to Lanks as his emissary to help him in locating Sita Devi and I have to take all steps so that not only I succeed in finding her but also in ensuring that there is no damage to Bhagawan Rama's mission.

4. Anjani Putra Hanuman's thoughts and views were that certain works that should have ended well and taken to logical conclusion don't get done and completed properly because they were improperly thought through.

And if the person who is going to do the work is incompetent and incapable then that person will not only do a terrible and shoddy job but also bring a bad name to the person who gave this emissary the work.

Sometimes, emissaries and professionals (and meaning employees and contractors) think no end of themselves, try to become clever by two half and spoil everything.

5. Hanuman thought: " I should not do anything that will spoil Bhagawan Rama's work and mission. Hence, I should do my work without getting caught, without being easily visible so that I can roam around in Lanka easily"
