As an opinionated Transgender Muslim Woman, I face trolling from multiple quarters. Diversity of opinions is welcome but it often comes in the form of online abuse. Here is how I maintain my calm and peace. A thread ...
I am blessed to have an awesome woman in my life - my mother. She is my pillar of support and a source of strength.
She is herself a force to reckon with and her emotional strength is infectious.
I am blessed to have an awesome set of friends and people who became part of my chosen family. I make sure to meet them, talk, vent out, cry, laugh and love.
Dear Muslims. Get Married. Okay, so while this may sound controversial, I had to say this. I think the time is right for this. There is palpable islamophobia across India whether you are in a village or Delhi, whether you work in a Govt job or as a blue-collar worker. A thread ..
Not a single day passes when new forms of attack are not unleashed on us. The conversation in every Muslim household is – How to deal with this. As a community, we need to take a lot of measures for our safety, sanity and welfare. And I have been writing about them.
One of those measures is – getting married. Yes! I would urge Single Muslims to get married if they feel they are ready for it. This can bring a lot of sense of responsibility, belonging and care. Also, keep it very simple. Don’t spend much in marriage.
Islamophobia has now crept into our Medical Colleges and Hospitals. There is open pedaling of hatred against Muslims in Healthcare Institutions.
There were Nazi Doctors and now we have Hindutva Doctors. A thread -

Dr. Aarti Lalchandani, Dean, GSVM Med Col, Kanpur called Tablighis Terrorists and asked them to be thrown in jungle. Caught on camera she was transferred.

Author of Microbiology textbook Dr. Apurba Sastry called Tablighis responsible for explosive spread of Covid even when matter was sub-judice. On public pressure, he apologised and this part from book was retracted.
We are in the third wave of #Covid. Community spread of #Omicron is given. Cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata are hot spots.
What works and what does not.
A thread of 10 points
1. It is clear that Omicron escapes Immunity acquired through #Vaccines and Previous Infection
2. Most cases of Omicron have mild infection, milder compared to Delta. This however doesn't mean that it will be mild in all cases. Some would become severe and need hospitalisation. Don't be stupid by buying into 'mild' theory
3. A lot of people are asymptomatic. So should you get tested for mild or no symptoms? Yes. Because only then you would isolate yourself and protect others. Also, better to detect it early and monitor rather than be caught off guard when saturation drops.

We run a Teleconsultation Helpline (9971736222) which is free and 24 by 7. Since I have led this initiative many patients think it's my number and want to speak with me by calling this. Fortunately, my call Operators do a good job. But sometimes some insist on speaking to me only
One such incidence. A dentists mother -83 y, covid Positive, severe Disease, from Gujarat, unable to find a Hosp bed and on home oxygenation. He saw my Video and called up Helpline. He was taking Consultation from many doctors locally. Our young doc did a wonderful jod advising.
Also, the case was referred to a Consultant in UK who spoke to family and counseled and advised. They were giving too much high generation antibiotics. Instead, proper treatment was advised. But the dentist wanted to speak to me only. Atleast once.
