’The nation’s most distinguished super spreader event’. @Trevornoah at the #WHCD.
2) and yes, the CO2 meters don’t lie — very bad ventilation at the #WHCD.
3) they didn’t have to superspread if they just used Far UV light bulbs, or upper room UV, or more HEPA filters. Yet they rejected it.

Holy hell—Trump wanted to shoot protestors. Former Defense Secretary Mark Esper charges in a memoir ($$$) that Trump said when demonstrators were protesting the death of George Floyd: "Can't you just shoot them? Just shoot them in the legs or something?"
axios.com/mark-esper-boo…
2) That moment in the first week of June, 2020, "was surreal, sitting in front of the Resolute desk, inside the Oval Office, with this idea weighing heavily in the air, and the president red faced and complaining loudly about the protests under way in DC," Esper writes.
3) "The good news — this wasn't a difficult decision," Esper continues. "The bad news — I had to figure out a way to walk Trump back without creating the mess I was trying to avoid."

Behind the curtain: The book was vetted at the highest levels of the Pentagon.

📍5th WAVE BEGINNING in SA—cases are surging again in South Africa 🇿🇦, which in the past week is seeing cases tripling, positivity rates also up, and hospitalization rising. The surge has SA facing a possible fifth wave, linked to #BA4 & #BA5 subvariants. nytimes.com/2022/05/02/wor…
2) “What we are seeing now, or at least maybe the first signs, is not completely new variants emerging, but current variants are starting to create lineages of themselves,” Dr. de Oliveira said. Since initial identification last November, Omicron has produced several subvariants.
3) “Some scientists are trying to understand what the BA.4 and BA.5 spike in South Africa, which is concentrated mainly in the Gauteng, Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal provinces, says about immunity from previous Omicron infections.

Wow—a CO2 concentration reading at the @WHCA dinner tonight… at 8:20pm. A CO2 of 2233 is over *5.5x higher* than outdoors, and is a sign of VERY poor ventilation. They should have added more air disinfection at #whitehousecorrespondentsdinner.

From @nalticx. #COVIDisAirborne
2) Even at the center of the table, CO2 still 1951 ppm. That is still over 4.8x higher than normal 400 ppm levels. Bad ventilation.
3) A photo and testimony from a WaPo reporter who’s there at WHCA now.

If case you’re wondering about the dubious quality of the CDC report claiming the pediatric liver hepatitis weren’t COVID related… I give you this simple meme (HT @lisa_iannattone).

For more scientific details, read the post below 👇
2) the CDC didn’t even check for recent COVID — and didn’t further check the livers for coronavirus either. It’s “trash” says Dr @lisa_iannattone
3) the CDC also seemed to have pre made up their mind to hunt for adenovirus lovers as a search criteria for their liver hepatitis study. They excluded the rest of the non adenovirus livers???

Dear @TuckerCarlson, Shame on you for attacking me with this nonsense & spreading disinformation as you always do on a news channel whose propaganda is likely responsible for countless #COVID deaths across the country and around the world. THREAD with the facts: 🧵
2) First of all, you attacked me about Shanghai’s #COVID19 situation—but you based it on a @bbcworldservice twitter post that misquoted me— @BBCNews staff had already deleted and retracted it on April 12th, and then apologized to me on April 13th for the mis-phrasing.
3) Secondly, I have 100x more credibility to talk about Shanghai’s COVID—I’m not just an epidemiologist, but I was born in Shanghai, lived in Shanghai, speak the local Shanghainese dialect, and have family members living through the crisis in Shanghai. You sir, are none of above.

BREAKING—first ever human US case of #H5N1 avian flu confirmed in a Colorado man who had direct poultry exposure. This bird flu, now found in 34 states, has already led to 23 million poultry animals culled as of early April, because of deadliness to birds.
gazette.com/health/first-h…
2) The man was exposed while working at a commercial farm on a prison pre-release employment program. He was culling birds as part of a prison program. coloradosun.com/2022/04/28/col…
3) CDPHE said that, because the man had been in close contact with infected poultry, it is unclear whether he had a full-blown infection. “Colonization,” when virus particles first enter the nose, is sometimes but not always a prelude to an infection.
