"How Russia Legitimises Theft of Ukrainian Ships on MarineTraffic"
So I just read this tweet and I got curious again. What could be burning on the Black Sea?
So I launched marinetraffic.com not really expecting to find anything useful ....
Now I am no expert in marine tracking and I've only used the site a few times before. Still I thought that what I found was so interesting that I decided I wanted to share it.
Clicking on the symbol closest to Odessa I found this:
To me it was a surprise that there were russian oil platforms in waters so close to Ukraine.
I wanted to learn more so I googled the "Modu Crimea 1".
It turns out that the name of this platform used to be "Ukraina" and that it was illegally seized under dubious circumstances 2014
If the smoke could be from this platform I don't know - It seems a bit too far away.
Anyway I can recommend reading this very interesting piece about how Ukrainian became Russian: ...promoteukraine.org/how-russia-leg…
