#taekooau where Jungkook knows that Taehyung is sort of, somehow, attracted to him. This isn't him being cocky or arrogant - Taehyung's crush on him is just a fact. The sky is blue, the sun is a burning ball of fire, water is wet, and Taehyung has a massive crush on Jungkook. ImageImage
Their friends often tease them about it, saying that maybe Jungkook should at least appreciate how lucky he is that he's gotten Taehyung's attention, the latter being known for turning down just about any person who asks him out (and there are a lot of people who have tried).
Some of their friends say that Taehyung rejects anybody who is attracted to him because he's just waiting for Jungkook to give him the time of day. But that could not be true, Jungkook thinks, because Taehyung is respectful.
As such, it should follow that he respects the fact that Jungkook has a boyfriend.

And Taehyung does, which Jungkook is thankful for.

There was one time that Taehyung confessed his feelings towards Jungkook, and then hastily adding, "I'm not expecting you to do anything, or to pity me. And I know you have a boyfriend and that you're happy in your relationship. I'm happy for you, honestly.+
But I'm just telling you this so I could get this off my chest."

With as much grace as he could muster, Jungkook told Taehyung that he was flattered, and that he was sorry.
"Please," Taehyung chuckled, "please do not apologize. None of this is your fault, Jungkook-ah."

"But -"

"Ah. Please don't. It makes me feel shitty."
Jungkook let out a resigned sigh then, still feeling guilty even though he agreed with Taehyung that he's not at fault in whatever that was happening. None of them were, because feelings are a fickle thing, and sometimes you just can't help but like who you like.
"Okay, fine. But, thank you, I guess? This is very flattering."

"Is that so?" Taehyung asked, a hint of amusement in his tone. "Well, you're welcome then. If you ever need another ego boost, let me know."
And that was that. They lived their lives, their friends still teasing them, with Taehyung often the one to shut them up. Jungkook's thankful for that, because the teasing had slowly gotten uncomfortable.
Why can't they fucking back off when he's told them multiple times that he's in a committed relationship?

"Eh," Yoongi shrugs, "no offense, but Siwoo's sort of an ass."
Taehyung jolts at that, immediately rising to Jungkook's defense because that's just the type of person he is, never hesitating to call someone out if they got out of line. "Hyung! Cut it out! And language, please."
In response, Yoongi just rolls his eyes, and with as much sarcasm that he could muster, says, "Oh, sorry. I mean, Siwoo-ssi is sort of an anal orifice."

The rest of them guffaws, that is, until Jungkook walks out.
/I should find new friends/, he decides as he briskly makes his way back to his apartment. One that he shares with Siwoo, his boyfriend of almost two years. He wants friends who would appreciate how happy he is with his lover.
Because sure, Siwoo may be condescending at times, and maybe he oozes pretentiousness most times. And sure maybe it was never a pleasant experience each time Siwoo tells Jungkook off for every tiny error he made (like that one dinner they had with Siwoo's friends when he laughed+
a bit too loudly at a joke someone said, and Siwoo called him a /neanderthal/).

But he has his good moments, okay? He's smart  and charismatic and he could be caring if he wanted to. He cuddles with Jungkook, brings him food, takes him to fancy places (Seokjin called him an +
arm candy for that one).

So all in all, he is happy.

That is, until he gets home and finds Siwoo on their bed, cock still buried in another man's ass.
🍑🍑🍑
Jungkook doesn't remember running.
All he remembers is that he did not want to go back to Hoseok's house because he did not want to deal with the onslaught of /I-told-you-so/ that would definitely come when they find out what happened.
(Later, after a particularly grueling dance practice, Jungkook shares this with Jimin, who in turn simply smacks his head and says, "Why the fuck would you even think that we'd do that to you? We're not that bad!

"Hyung, you sort of are."
"...Well, okay, sometimes. But still!" And he smacks Jungkook again, but then he hugs the younger afterwards, so all is well.)
Jungkook does text Taehyung, though, and begs him to come pick him up at the CVS near Hoseok's place. "Please hyung, come alone, and don't tell the guys anything please."
When Taehyung arrives, it's with a flurry of "hey what happened?" And "why are you crying?" And "hyung's here, Jungkook-ah, you'll be okay, hyung's here now." He comes with a panicked glance and flustered movements and with a hug that is neither too tight nor intrusive.
For a moment, when Taehyung says, "you'll be okay, Jungkook-ah," Jungkook almost believes him.
🍑🍑🍑
Jungkook doesn't tell his friends what happened, but they find out anyway because that's how things work: something happens and people find out.
He's sure it's not Taehyung who told his friends. Taehyung isn't the type to do that. He could be loud, sure, but only when it comes to inconsequential things, like how math sucks and jazz and Van Gogh and mint choco.
When it comes to matters like this - matters that involve feelings, especially heartbreak - Taehyung can become uncharacteristically quiet. It's why Jimin (and to be honest, the rest of them) his confidant.
He's never one to gossip, and it would take some miraculous form of coaxing before he spills any secret that was shared with him.
So, not Taehyung. But maybe it's because Jungkook stops talking about Siwoo, or how he would clam up each time that asshole's name comes up. Maybe it's because he finds himself spending more time with his friends instead of hurrying home or going on expensive dates.
tever it is that prompted his friends to figure it out, Jungkook doesn't know.

But eh. Not a big deal, he thinks. He's dealing with a broken heart, and he has enough on his plate to worry about people finding out about his boyfriend cheating on him.
Except that in the weeks that follow, rumors about him pop up. Rumors like he's emotionally detached. Like how he's not good in bed.
Like how he just takes and takes but never gives, so really, it was never Siwoo's fault that he cheated when Jungkook himself was never a good boyfriend to begin with.
There was a time that he'd been proud to be Siwoo's boyfriend. That guy's popular, after all. Now his ex's popularity has bitten him in the ass, placed a target on his back, and people talked.
"Yah! Shut your trap or I'll pull your teeth out!" is Seokjin's most common threat to anyone who had the misfortune of talking about Jungkook within his friend group's hearing distance.
Namjoon takes it upon himself to calm Seokjin down, though he does paraphrase the threat, something along the lines of, "aren't you from x department? I know your dean by the way. Would be a shame if they find out that you're spreading baseless and malicious information about +
others, seeing as that is grounds for a written warning and ultimately, dismissal." And those gossiping students believe that because  Namjoon is probably friends with almost all of the faculty members of their uni.
Jimin and Hoseok, on the other hand, would hiss at anyone who dares say something bad about Jungkook, would whisper something in their ear and smile as that person pales, color draining from their face.
Jimin and Hoseok have enough blackmail material on almost anyone on campus, their info-gathering skills too advanced that honestly, the entirety of the National Intelligence Agency should just pack up and let these two handle things.
Yoongi takes a more hands-on approach. He heard some guys snickering about Jungkook once, calling the younger a "fucking golddigging fag who got what he deserved." He simply removed himself from their own circle, calmly approached those guys, asked, "care to repeat that?"
And even before the offender could open his mouth, Yoongi punches him in the jaw. Later, Yoongi received a stern written warning from the dean of their department. He used that sheet of paper to roll some weed.
As for Taehyung, well. He walks Jungkook to class, texts him if he needs someone to talk to, meets with Jungkook when the latter doesn't want to be alone.
He brings Jungkook food even before the younger feels hungry, organizes movie nights when Jungkook tells him that he needs a distraction. He's comfort personified, and with him around, those rumors hardly matter.
(What Jungkook doesn't know is that Taehyung talked to his dad about Siwoo, asks his dad, "did you know one of your interns is a manipulative bastard who cheats on his exams and is involved with some shady shit in uni?"
And because Taehyung is a damn good law student who is expected to eventually take over his dad's firm, Kim and Park - which also happens to be the largest law firm in the country - his father listens to him.
Within the week of Jungkook and Siwoo's break-up, Siwoo was let go as an intern at the firm.
Taehyung doesn't feel guilty for whatever inevitable consequence his words might have had. As far as he knows, the info he shared with his dad was accurate. He's friends with Jimin and Hoseok after all.)
#taekook

What do you think of Taehyung-hyung?" Jungkook asks Yoongi one afternoon.

It's been around a month since the Siwoo's-cock-in-a-stranger's-ass incident, and while Jungkook wouldn't say that he's totally moved on, he can confidently claim that he's feeling much better.
The rumor about Siwoo losing his shit over losing his internship and being unable to apply to any other major law firm really helped.

("Hah, karma sure is nice," Jungkook told Taehyung when he heard about it.

"It sure is, Jungkook-ah. It sure is.")
Yoongi squints at him. "What do you mean, what do I think about Taehyung?"

"Ah, well, you know… just. As a human?" Jungkook mentally facepalms himself.
"Well. Tae? He's cool. Literally a chaebol but doesn't flaunt it. Graces us peasants with his presence and actually enjoys being with us, for some reason. That makes him weird, doesn't it? Also a bit of a nerd," Yoongi drawls. He won't stop squinting at Jungkook, which is a bit +
uncomfortable. Though Jungkook chalks it up to Yoongi's horrible eyesight. "Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why are you suddenly asking me about Tae?"
Jungkook could not help but squirm. The thing is, lately, with the amount of time that he's been spending with Taehyung, he could not help but love being doted on, and it makes him wonder if this is what it's like to be with a boyfriend who actually cares.
There's also the fact that he knows Taehyung likes him, so it's either Taehyung is taking advantage of his vulnerable situation (which is unlikely), or he himself is taking advantage of Taehyung's feelings (which is… well… he's thinking about it).
It's an uncertain space that Jungkook finds himself in - one in which dating Taehyung seems both like a good idea but also a horrible one. He's on this metaphorical seesaw, knees shaking as he stands in the middle.
"Are you - uh - you want to use him as a rebound, don't you?" Yoongi accuses, glares at Jungkook, and maybe there's a grain of truth to that.

Jungkook's still offended though. "What the fuck, hyung! Of course not!"
"Hmm, kay. Don't you even think about it," Yoongi warns, voice menacingly low, and geez, why are his friends all so scary? But eventually, Yoongi sighs, features going soft. He's always had a soft spot for Jungkook. "I love you, Kook-ah, but I won't have you doing+
things that could hurt another friend. Got it?"

"Yeah, hyung, the fuck. Tae is important to me, too, you know? I won't do that to him."
🍑🍑🍑
Except that maybe Jungkook does.
If we're being technical, it's not that he's using Taehyung to get over Siwoo. More like, he's exploring the options he didn't know he has, especially since Siwoo had been his first and only relationship.
Options like flirting with people who tell him he's cute, going on blind dates, getting drunk and fucking strangers in dingy bathrooms of even dingier clubs. As well, options like, maybe, finally giving Taehyung the time of day.
Also, it's not like he's asking Taehyung to do the things he does. Mostly he just asks Taehyung, "hyung are you free?" And if Taehyung replies with "yeah. Where you at?" and immediately meets with him, then it's really not Jungkook's doing.
Taehyung pampers him out of the older's own free will, and who doesn't like being pampered anyway?
"Where are we going? And don't you have that paper to finish? That one due tomorrow?" Jungkook asks, curious, as he allows himself to be gently dragged to wherever it is that Taehyung is taking him. They've been through main streets and back alleys here in Hongdae, and it feels +
like they've been walking for hours.

"We've been walking for 15 minutes at most, don't be dramatic," Taehyung says as he rolls his eyes at Jungkook, obviously fond.
"And we're going to this cool place that my friend owns. Aaaaand I already submitted that paper yesterday." Then he grins, his grip on Jungkook's wrist tightening slightly but still so gentle. "Come on."
Taehyung brings Jungkook to an arcade. Not the modern ones with flashy games and neon lights - this one is a time capsule, with chunky consoles and classic games with shitty graphics. "They're supposed to close this down for good today, but I got my friend to keep it open for us+
anyway." There's a hint of longing in Taehyung's expression when he says that, as he also runs his hands over the game consoles that are surprisingly clean despite their age.
"Is this place important to you?" Jungkook asks, unable to keep his curiosity at bay, especially since Taehyung spaces out as he looks around.

"Hm? Ah. Yeah, sort of. I used to spend a lot of my time here when I was younger. I was happy here."
Jungkook's stomach twists somehow. There's something heavy in his chest, and he so wants to reach out to Taehyung, maybe give him a hug, but he can't because that might give the wrong idea. So instead he just settles for "ah," before also looking around.
"Anyway," Taehyung suddenly pipes up. "Enough sentimental shit. Let's play?"

So they do, and at some point they get a bit too competitive, and it doesn't take long before Jungkook is calling Taehyung "my bitch" over a game of Galaga.
After a few hours, they close the shop and go next door, a PC Bang, where Taehyung hands over the keys to a bored-looking teen, telling him to "give those to Jae-sang hyung." Later, they go to a small cafe, where Taehyung buys Jungkook some coffee and a slice of cake.
It feels so much like a date, which has Jungkook sweating. Not that he's not having fun because he is. But the idea of going on a date with Taehyung is overwhelming, especially given how he's aware of how Taehyung feels about him. Also given that Jungkook himself isn't sure +
about how he feels towards Taehyung.

Thankfully, Jungkook's brain to mouth filter isn't working that well, so before they could leave the cafe, Jungkook blurts out, "Tae? Is this a date?"
Taehyung seems surprised at that. Then he expertly schools his expression again, back to a more neutral yet guarded smile, and it bothers Jungkook because this smile doesn't seem to reach his eyes.
"It can be whatever you want it to be, Jungkook-ah," is what he says. "I just wanted to spend time with you, is all. Did I make you uncomfortable?"

"No! I just - nevermind. I had so much fun today," Jungkook replies, not even noticing that he's now holding Taehyung's hand.

"What are you doing, Kim Taehyung?"

This is what Jimin asks Taehyung one lazy afternoon, on that one rare occasion where both of them did not have any class or extracurricular commitment. They'd just been lying on the floor of Taehyung's apartment
relishing the reprieve from the heat that the airconditioning supplies.

Taehyung doesn't want to answer Jimin's question, not for the sake of being rude or that he doesn't know what Jimin is referring to. Both he and Jimin had long since developed that sort of mind-reading +
connection between them, and often they'd know what the other means without saying it out loud. So sure, Taehyung knows that Jimin is asking about Jungkook, but for the first time, he does not know what to say.
A part of him wants to believe that he's just really being a good friend, and that he'd do the same thing if it had been any of their other friends. Then again, he'd had the opportunity to do so before, like when Jimin got dumped by a scumbag who simply dated him for his money,
or when Seokjin was stalked by a rather creepy suitor. Of course, Taehyung did help his friends out back then, but not to this extent. He did help them out, sure, gave them comfort when they needed it, but never had he been so consumed by the need to make sure that they are happy
So no, he doesn't know what he's doing. The only thing that he's sure of is that he likes Jungkook. Really really likes him, and would do anything to make sure that the younger is content and happy.

Lacking a response to Jimin, he opts to roll on his side and grunt.
"You're running away again, Tae," Jimin says, and there is softness in his voice that tells Taehyung he cares, that he's concerned and worried for his best friend. "One of these days, you need to really decide on what you're doing, you know? Instead of simply refusing to think
about it. Avoiding these things will bite you in the ass, I tell you."

Taehyung turns, curls into a ball and cradles his face with his palms pressed together. He's looking at Jimin now, and hopes that Jimin truly knows how much Taehyung trusts him. "Yeah, but you'll be there to
pick me up when it happens."

Jimin sighs, resigned. He knows what Taehyung said is true. "Of course, Tae. Of course."

People say that it takes approximately two months for one to get used to a new routine. By that point, such routine should be deeply embedded into your own habits that doing them takes little effort. Of course, the length of time may vary, and some people may find getting used
to routine easier or more difficult, depending on their circumstances.

Jungkook doesn't notice how quickly time passes when it comes to Taehyung. One moment he's down in the dumps, subconsciously believing the names they call him - bad boyfriend, the one Siwoo cheated on -
and then all of a sudden, he's… sort of happy?

He's got his friends, of course, and they dote on him fiercely, never failing to check up on him at all times, making sure he gets out of bed, that he eats well, that he gets enough sleep and socialization.
And then there's Taehyung, a steady presence in his life by now, who comes to him as soon as he seeks company, and who gives him space if he needs it. Slowly but surely he has cemented himself into Jungkook's life. Jungkook finds himself expecting Taehyung's "good morning" and
"good night" messages each day. It's become normal for him to update Taehyung about what he's doing and for him to expect Taehyung to do the same.

They say it takes two months to form a habit, and yet it's only been a month and a half
when Jungkook finds that his Fridays are for movie nights with Taehyung, and that his Saturday afternoons are for random excursions around the city with Taehyung, and that his Sunday evenings are for study sessions with Taehyung.
It's thanks to these, his friends and his newfound habits, that he could honestly say that he's feeling better. That he's moved on from whatever shit Siwoo put him through. And though he's not ready to be in a relationship yet (there's much trauma to unpack there. It's never easy
to give your heart away, after all, when you're not completely done picking up its pieces), he's content that he can spend time with Taehyung without feeling any guilt.
He likes Taehyung's company, genuinely enjoys spending time with him, and he trusts that the older won't force his feelings unto him. For now, that's okay.
“Hyung!” Jungkook almost screams into his phone as he scrambles out of his bed, blindly searching for a relatively clean shirt. “Are you really outside?”
When he sent that message to Taehyung, he really had just been bored. He craved for some sugary treat, that much is true, but it wasn’t that urgent. He just wanted to talk to someone, though he really should have known that Taehyung would do something so random as bringing him
food at ass o’clock just because.

“Yeah, I am,” Taehyung chuckles. He sounds amused even through the receiver. “Take your time.”

Jungkook doesn’t. He’s out the door of his dorm room in record time, deciding to use the stairwell instead of waiting for the elevator.
He’s panting by the time that he gets to the ground floor, and when he sees Taehyung, he almost loses his breath. It’s almost unfair how good he looks in nothing but a coat over a plain white t-shirt and some pajamas.
As soon as he sees Jungkook, he grins, lifting up the paper bag with a McDonald’s logo. “Express delivery?”

“You’re unbelievable,” Jungkook breathes.
They take the elevator on their way up, with Taehyung still gently admonishing Jungkook for rushing down despite being told to take his time. “I don’t like to keep people waiting, hyung,” Jungkook explains, and in response Taehyung tuts. “And I told you I don’t mind waiting.”
There’s an ease to Taehyung’s movements as soon as they enter Jungkook’s apartment, with the way that he takes off his shoes and plops himself on the ratty couch before taking out the food he bought out of the paper bag.
Turns out, he also bought some nuggets and fries because he knows Jungkook loves those, too.

He’s been to Jungkook’s dorm room enough times to truly be comfortable. At first, Jungkook had been mortified by the thought of Taehyung visiting his cramped space, given how luxurious
Taehyung’s own apartment is.

However, Jungkook eventually learns that Taehyung isn’t really the type to mind appearances, whether it be clothes or places where they hang out, or their living spaces.
Once, he even fell asleep on the sidewalk outside a convenience store. Jimin nagged at him to no end when they picked him up. “Why couldn’t you be like, you know, a normal person? There’s literally a CU behind you, and you could have stayed there.
But no! You’d rather sleep on a fucking sidewalk, where anybody could have robbed you. Because you’re an idiot!”

So this time, Jungkook doesn’t feel that insecurity of having Taehyung over. As a matter of fact, he feels warm. Feels taken care of.
As is always the case when he’s with Taehyung.

“You only bought one sundae?” he asks as he’s munching on a piece of chicken nugget. Taehyung, meanwhile, has made himself more comfortable, one elbow propped on the arm of the couch and his head leaned back on the backrest.
He has his eyes closed, and from where Jungkook sits, he can see the faint signs of fatigue that Taehyung’s features.

Taehyung smiles a bit as he sits up. “Am not really that hungry.” Jungkook thinks it’s absurd to turn down food, especially if you’re the one who bought it in
the first place.

Jungkook tells him this, and Taehyung only shakes his head. “Nah, I bought this for you.”

That’s the thing about Taehyung sometimes. Namjoon once told Jungkook that Taehyung’s love language, just like Yoongi, is doing acts of service.
He’s the type to give and give, but he always hesitates to take anything back. The same goes for how he is with his friends. He’s one to always say, “here, it’s yours, take it” or “sure, I’ll help” or “let me see what I can do,”
but never “please do this for me” or “you owe me this.” He’s the type to not expect anything in return, and it’s draining, when you think about it, to have certain pieces of yourself everywhere, letting others do what they may with a part of you that you’ve given away.
Perhaps that’s why their group of friends is also a bit protective when it comes to Taehyung, no matter how much they deny it. “He’s a grown man, he can take care of himself,” they’d always say, but then they’d always make sure that Taehyung spends time with them
or eats on time or gets enough sleep or that the pressure of being a perfect heir never gets to him. In the couple of years that Jungkook has come to know him, he’s realized that Taehyung likes taking care of people, but it seems that he’s never one to take care of himself.
So, here in his room, illuminated only by the light that spills from the street outside. Here in the wee hours of the morning. Here, halfway through his sundae, the creamy treat melting in his tongue. Here, to himself, Jungkook vows that he would take care of Taehyung, too.
#taekookau #vkookau

“... so I panicked, right? And I screamed, ‘put that dick back in!’ You know what Yoongi-hyung did?”

Jungkook wheezed. “Oh my god. What did he do?”

“He sort of let out this whimper, then turned to Jimin and said, Minie. +
+ Then he shoved his dick back into Jiminie’s ass.”

“Oh my fucking -” Jungkook couldn’t fucking breathe.

Taehyung had been telling him about one of the more embarrassing sexcapades of their friends, one which Taehyung had the misfortune of accidentally witnessing
since Yoongi and Jimin had the audacity to do it in his car. “You really should not just let anybody use your car, hyung!”

They've been talking for quite some time now. Jungkook's coffee table is littered with empty food packets, and the two mugs of tea that Jungkook
had prepared earlier when his food ran out have gone cold.

They haven't moved much, only shifting every now and then because the couch is small and worn, and it tends to dig into your ass when you happen to sit on one spot for some time.
Taehyung's been telling him about the misadventures of his friends, ones he didn't know about because he wasn't in uni yet or he'd been preoccupied with Siwoo when they happened. Apparently their friend group had always been a mess,
but the way Taehyung recounts their chaos makes them sound funny and even more endearing.

The clock on Jungkook's wall reads 5:01. The sky outside is starting to brighten, deep blues blending in with brighter hues of yellows and orange as the night slowly gives way to a new day
With a yawn, Taehyung stretches and pats his own legs before standing up. "Well, this has been fun, Jungkook-ah. But I've got a seminar in a couple of hours, so I should go."

Momentarily, Jungkook feels a surge of panic. He's not kidding when he says that he loves spending time
with Taehyung, but he also understands that his hyung has responsibilities on top of taking the burden of caring for him. So he says, "it was, hyung. Thank you for this. You sure you're okay driving home?"
"Don't worry about it," Taehyung grins.

As Jungkook watches Taehyung get into his car, giving him a final wave, he wonders then if Taehyung also talks about him like the way he does about his friends.
If Taehyung also tells their other friends about his clumsiness and bad decisions in a way that makes them laugh, makes him seem more precious than he really is.

One early Thursday afternoon finds Jungkook bored out of his wits.
Jungkook hates Thursdays. It's a useless day in his opinion. At least Monday signals the start of a new week, Tuesday brings with it the peak of school work before the humpday comes on Wednesday.
The end of weekdays comes on Friday, Saturdays are for fun, and Sundays are supposedly for relaxation but are actually for cramming everything due the following week. And Thursdays, well, they're just there. Some sort of a placeholder, but not bringing with it any significance.
To make matters worse, he doesn't really have anything to do on Thursdays while all his friends have their classes. At the beginning of the semester, he was actually happy about this single day off.
It's a.day solely for.himself, one where he could maybe complete his assignments in advance, maybe take much needed naps or binge-watching sessions.

But Jungkook is a college student - cramming is sort of embedded into his DNA.
And one can only have too many naps or movie/series marathons before it gets old and absolutely mind numbing.

He's mindlessly chewing on the neckline of his shirt, pondering on what else he could do for the day before one of his hyungs
get some free time in - he checks his phone - four more hours, when a message from Taehyung comes in.

"You free?"

He quickly replies with a "Yes!" Excited at the prospect of finally hanging out with someone,
not to mention that the /someone/ is probably one of his favorite people in the world.

It doesn't take a few seconds after his reply when Taehyung calls him, asking him if he's in his dorm room. He tells him yes, but when Taehyung asks if he could come over, he says no.
"Can we go somewhere? I'm feeling cooped up, and if I have to spend the whole afternoon here I might go insane."

He could hear Taehyung chuckle from the other end of the line. "Okay then. I'm getting in my car now. Will pick you up."
"Yeah? Where we goin?" He's almost breathless as he hurries to find something nice to wear. He knows by now that Taehyung doesn't care about those things, but a part of him also wants to look nice for his hyung.
"We'll see," is the only answer Taehyung gives him, though his tone is teasing, like he already knows where he's taking Jungkook but is not keen on telling him.

Jungkook snorts. "Fine then, surprise me. See you in a bit, hyung! Don't use your phone while driving!"
🐰🐰🐰
#taekookau #vkookau #tkau

It turns out that Jungkook did not have to hurry getting ready because it takes Taehyung another half an hour to get to his place. Jungkook is starting to get antsy and pouty when his phone rings and Taehyung tells him he's downstairs.
"Sorry, had to change before going here," Taehyung tells him, and it does seem like it. Instead of his usual everyday wear, which is mostly a dress shirt and slacks as required by the law department, he's wearing rather casual clothes -
a murky brown shirt with cut-off sleeves and black shorts. Jungkook feels overdressed in his dress shirt and jeans.

Jungkook stares at him for a bit after buckling his seatbelt. "uh. Should I change? I should, shouldn't I? I feel overdressed."
"Nah," Taehyung casually replies, not giving Jungkook any option anyway since he's already started driving.

Jungkook shrugs and then grins, excitement thrumming through his veins. Taehyung can be unpredictable sometimes, and he revels in it. "So, where to?"
"It's a secret," Taehyung grins back, and then he winks at Jungkook.
A little over three hours later, Jungkook is jumping up and down as soon as he gets out of Taehyung's car. They stopped over some rest areas along the way, so they have enough food for the rest of the afternoon.

By now, the sun is starting its slow descent,
though it’s still light enough to appreciate the entire view.

Jungkook wants to run. Wants to feel the wind on his face, the salt on his skin. Before him, the ocean stretches far and wide, its waters almost twinkling in the late afternoon sun.
Jungkook can’t remember the last time he’s been to the beach. He didn’t get to see the shores of Busan last Chuseok even when he got home. He and Siwoo had gotten into a huge fight back then, and he was eager to get back to Seoul to fix things. Besides, the beaches of Busan
get a bit crowded during the holiday season.

This time, the beach is vast and isn’t crowded, perfect for a quiet getaway. There’s a rocky cliff on one side and behind them is a lush greenery dotted by small establishments. It’s breathtaking.
"Seriously hyung!" Jungkook almost squeals. "You're unbelievable!"

"Glad you're liking it so far," Taehyung tells him as he unloads their food and some towels. "I got you some swimming shorts. I haven't used them yet, don't worry, and some change of clothes as well."
Jungkook squints at Taehyung as he takes the change of clothes and a towel. “Did you plan this? You seem awfully prepared for this to be a random trip.”

“No! Honest! I just grabbed a bunch of stuff that we might need. If I were prepared, you’d know.”
Then Taehyung winks at him again, a sly little smile on his lips, and Jungkook finds himself feeling weak in the knees.
They find a small cafe whose owner graciously let them change into their swimwear. In exchange, they also stay for a bit, ordering some beer to get their afternoon started. Taehyung pays for everything again, arguing that the entire trip is his idea anyway.
“Your boyfriend is so sweet,” the waiter pretends to whisper to Jungkook, though obviously he intends for Taehyung to hear. Jungkook, honestly, does not have it in him to correct him, even liking the fact that people mistake them for a couple.
Who knows? Maybe soon that’s what they’ll be. He just needs to figure out what he feels, and something tells him that he’s actually getting there.
He intends to humor the waiter, maybe whisper back, he is, isn’t he? But before he could do so, Taehyung says, “Ah, no, we’re just friends.”

The sun isn't too harsh on the skin by the time they leave the cafe and slowly head towards the beach. They walk in comfortable silence, only punctuated by an occasional cry of seagulls flying above them or the gentle crashing of waves on the shore.
Taehyung seems content enough. There is a slight smile on his face, a tiny upward tug on his lip. Jungkook, on the other hand, tries his best to sort out his thoughts.

There's something akin to disappointment that sits uncomfortably at the bottom of his stomach.
It had been too easy for Taehyung to say that they were just friends, his tone too casual in saying so.

Jungkook wonders if that's just Taehyung still respecting his boundaries, or if Taehyung's attraction for him is finally waning.
There's a bigger chance for the latter, he thinks. After all, it's not as if their boundaries are as clearly defined as before. He appreciated Taehyung keeping his distance before because /he had a boyfriend/. But now he doesn't, he's single, a free agent.
Shouldn't Taehyung be taking this chance to make a move? Is he waiting for Jungkook to maybe drop some hints?
But he has been dropping hints! He initiates contact, he pesters Taehyung a lot, he confides in him. What more should he do? Should he confess? Perhaps he could do that. Not exactly confess, but maybe explicitly tell Taehyung that he's ready to give it a try?
Though, what if Taehyung's feelings for him are actually gone? And that he's doing all of these for Jungkook out of some misplaced sense of duty? Then that confession would be so awkward and humiliating, wouldn't it? What if -
"You okay, Jungkook-ah?" Taehyung interrupts his downward spiral, thankfully, gently holding on to his wrist while his other hand caresses Jungkook's cheek.

Jungkook is most definitely not okay, but he also does not want to ruin this little getaway of theirs.
This is supposed to be an escape, so it makes sense that he should escape his thoughts for a bit as well.

Whatever. He'll worry about those later. The beach is calling him.

"Yeah, hyung, am okay," he mutters.
He shuts his eyes and scrunches his nose as Taehyung applies sunscreen on his face. Taehyung's fingertips feel nice against his skin. "I wanna swim now, honest."

Taehyung tuts. "Impatient baby. Wait for five minutes for the cream to settle. Then you can swim."
He finishes applying sunscreen on Jungkook's face and lightly tickles his chin. He applies some on his face, too, and then puts on sunglasses, and Jungkook would not lie, the sight makes his knees weak.
There's also the thing - Taehyung calling him baby. He does it quite often now, and Jungkook really /really/ likes it. The name sends shivers down his spine, butterflies fluttering in his tummy. He wants Taehyung to use it more often, maybe all the time.
"Kay, we're all set!" Taehyung takes a lungful of air, and while Jungkook is still in a daze, busy looking at the gorgeous man beside him, he jumps and shouts, "race you there! Loser's a rotten egg!"

"Wha- ah fuck! No fair, hyung!"
Jungkook takes off running, laughing as the breeze ruffles his hair.

The sun slowly sinks into the horizon.

And as Jungkook crashes into the sea, Taehyung's there, arms wide open, with salt on his skin and warmth in his embrace. It's a damn good day.
#taekook #taekookau

Something shifts between them after that beach trip, that much Taehyung is sure of.
When they got home late that night, Jungkook hugged him just a little bit tighter, for just a little bit longer, his voice when he whispered "night hyung" just a tiny bit breathier.

And in the days that follow, it is often Jungkook who would initiate physical contact.
Taehyung's hand when they walk to their classes. He would randomly give Taehyung the biggest hugs.

One time, they were eating cake at a coffee shop, Jungkook suddenly reached out to wipe something off Taehyung's lips and proceeded to lick it off his finger.
He had such an innocent look on his face as he did that, seemingly unaware of how Taehyung’s insides were simultaneously combusting and melting.

At another time, when Taehyung was in Jungkook's dorm room, preparing their popcorn for their movie night,
Jungkook suddenly hugged him from behind, nuzzling his face into the crook of Taehyung's neck and sighing, "you smell so good, hyung."

Jungkook later asked him to stay over and told him that they could share the bed. And because Taehyung is a weak /weak/ man, he did.
That Friday night of him staying over turned into next Friday and then the next, and before Taehyung knew it, he'd been sleeping over in Jungkook's dorm room each time they had their movie night.
Jungkook is always the little spoon, and he would tug Taehyung's arm if he feels like he's not being hugged tightly.

A sleepy Jungkook is soft and smells of cotton and wildflowers.
It works well for the both of them since Taehyung always sleeps better when he is hugging something. Or, this time, someone.

"Is something finally going on between you two?" asks Jimin.

There are a couple of days when they happen to be free, some sort of interim before the finals week, so all seven of them are in his apartment for a random get-together.
Taehyung opens a box of pizza and takes a sniff, scrunches his nose. "Ugh, this one has pineapples. I want the one with potatoes."

"Tae!" Jimin whines even as he grabs another box, one with the potato pizza, and hands it to Taehyung.
Both of them are currently in his kitchen, preparing the snacks while the rest of their friends are in the living room choosing the movie they should watch. There are several bowls of chips, some bottles of soju and cola, a couple of boxes of pizza.
He also has several cups of instant ramen in his cupboard because most of them are blackholes when it comes to eating, devouring any food that comes within their vicinity.

Taehyung huffs. "No. I mean, I don't know. It's complicated."

"Complicated how?"
"Like, it feels like we're dating but not really?" He says, phrases it like a question because he isn't even sure if there's any answer to his dilemma.

Jimin grabs a handful of chips and dumps all of those into his mouth.
"He's a bit touchier towards you lately," Jimin notes after chewing. It looks messy, but that's how they both are.

"Yeah. Ugh, Chim -"

Taehyung doesn't get to finish what he's supposed to say as Seokjin suddenly barges into the kitchen.
"Is the food ready or what? Are you eating on your own?!"

They hurriedly grab the food and drinks, precariously balancing all of it between the two of them as they head to the living room.
The rest of them are already grumbling about how Taehyung and Jimin are traitors and should be kept away from the rest of the food.

"Or I can just kick you out of the apartment," Taehyung retorts playfully as he settles on the couch beside Jungkook.
Immediately, Jungkook scoots closer to him and takes his arm so that he could curl up against Taehyung's chest.

Jungkook giggles, whispers, "no you wouldn't."

Hoseok, seated on the floor, turns to him, "eyyy Tae, ever so generous host. You can have all the food you want."
"This is tyranny," Namjoon pipes in as he takes a slice of pizza.

"Tyranny shmyranny," counters Jimin.

Yoongi groans, points to Jimin and says, "that's why you don't grow taller. Your retorts are for grade-schoolers." He gets a handful of chips thrown at him, courtesy of Jimin.
It's a mess, and even when the movie starts, they do not shut up. It's an old rom com this time, its title escaping Taehyung because he's too focused on the mess on his floor and on the warm and solid body pressed against him.
#taekook #taekookau

At some point during the movie, in a cliched turn of events when the lead actors found themselves stuck in the middle of nowhere due to a storm, Taehyung realizes that he's been mindlessly rubbing Jungkook's thigh.
It doesn't help that Jungkook is wearing shorts, having changed from his jeans earlier when he got to Taehyung's apartment because he'll be staying over and wants to be comfy.

Taehyung freezes. It's a pesky habit of his.
He's naturally touchy, so much so that even Yoongi, who used to portray himself as touch-averse, has relented and lets Taehyung hug him all the time. That's also why he and Jimin are so close. Aside from the fact that they literally grew up together,
they both crave physical contact so they often end up cuddling or hugging.

But this is Jungkook, and Taehyung likes him. Likes him so much it almost hurts sometimes. He's worked so hard to keep his feelings
(and certain, will-not-be-named urges) at bay just so Jungkook won't feel uncomfortable around him.
#taekookau #taekook [tw// mild nsfw]

He stops what he's doing, and he's about to remove his hand from Jungkook's bare thigh when Jungkook grabs it. It's just then that he notices how heavy Jungkook's breathing is.
[tw// mild nsfw]

It's quiet, drowned out by the movie playing and their friend's commentaries on what's happening on screen.

But Taehyung, he feels it, the way Jungkook shivers, the rise and fall of his chest.
[tw// mild nsfw]

"Hyung, don't stop," Jungkook whispers as he moves closer to Taehyung that they're practically glued together. He places his leg, the one Taehyung is rubbing, on Taehyung's lap. His voice is low and raspy when he says, "feels good."
[tw// mild nsfw]

Taehyung is a weak /weak/ man.

He chances a glance at Jungkook, whose eyes seem glassy, heavy-lidded, and it stirs something deep within his gut. He resumes lightly rubbing Jungkook's thigh,
[tw// mild nsfw]

venturing closer to the younger's crotch before moving his hand back closer to the knees, then back. He's teasing, he knows, gauging Jungkook's reaction.

Jungkook's skin is soft to the touch, smooth as fuck, and maybe Taehyung is a little bit obsessed,
[tw// mild nsfw]

finding it hard to stop now that he's gotten consent.

He does his best to keep his attention on his TV screen, occasionally casting glances at their other friends just to see if anybody notices what they're doing.
[tw// mild nsfw]

From the corner of his eye he sees Jimin briefly looking at them with furrowed brows before slowly turning back to the movie.

A slight pinch to Jungkook's inner thigh has the younger quietly moaning, his breath hot against Taehyung's neck,
[tw// mild nsfw]

and it sounds absolutely delicious. Heat pools somewhere down Taehyung's gut, sending shivers all over his body and making his fingers tingle.

"Hyung," Jungkook whispers again,
[tw// mild nsfw]

whines almost, and he sounds so wrecked already that Taehyung feels himself getting hard as well. He slides his hand up Jungkook's thigh once more, getting braver this time as he moves it closer and closer to Jungkook's cock.
[tw// mild nsfw]

And he feels it. There. A light sensation at the back of his hand.

Jungkook is hard.

Taehyung wants to weep.
[tw// mild nsfw]

He wants to thank whatever god is out there because this boy, this lovely human being, is so fucking sensitive, so fucking pliant, and Taehyung wants nothing else but to ruin him in all the best ways possible.
[tw// mild nsfw]

With new-found confidence, Taehyung stops rubbing Jungkook’s thigh and instead moves his hand over the younger’s cock, the action eliciting a quiet yet breathy groan.
[tw// mild nsfw]

Taehyung's fully hard now, strains against his slacks as Jungkook slowly moves his hips, no doubt seeking friction. Taehyung thinks he can come just like this, with Jungkook moaning in his ears and rutting against his hand.
[tw// mild nsfw]

He does not get to come.
[end of tw//]

Hoseok shifts from his position on the floor, and in doing so lightly elbows Jungkook's other leg.

Jungkook freezes. He seems to just have realized what he's doing, and all of a sudden, he jolts up, mutters an "excuse me" and runs to the bathroom.
Taehyung wants to weep. This time, he curses whatever god is out there for giving this to him, only to abruptly take it back.
#taekook #taekookau

Taehyung is going insane.

He braces himself for whatever backlash that little stunt of theirs might have caused. But when Jungkook returns to his seat after his brief trip to the bathroom, he simply cuddles up next to Taehyung again, as if nothing happened.
Taehyung has a nagging suspicion that Jungkook finished the deed in the bathroom, seeing as how loose his limbs are as he drapes himself over Taehyung, sighing to show how relaxed he is.
Taehyung does not know if he should breathe a sigh of relief or if he should be disappointed.

At least if Jungkook shows any sign of… discomfort? Or awkwardness? Then they could perhaps start addressing this tension that exists between them.
But as Jungkook shows no reaction whatsoever, pretending like he did not just grind against Taehyung’s hand while their friends were none the wiser, then Taehyung is at a loss as to how to even broach the topic.
After their friends left, Jungkook happily jumps on to Taehyung’s bed, rolls around a bit while saying that the sheets are so soft and comfy. They talk a bit about the movie they did not actually watch, about the upcoming finals, about other random things.
Except what just happened.
The next day, as usual, they wake up in each other’s arms, Taehyung makes breakfast, and before Jungkook leaves, he kisses Taehyung on the cheek.

Jungkook seems happy, giggling the entire time, and Taehyung is losing his mind.
#taekook #taekookau

The finals serve as a welcome distraction. They all get busy so they barely meet, but Taehyung and Jungkook constantly text each other throughout the week. This time, Taehyung convinces himself that it’s better to just go with the flow for now.
Jungkook doesn’t seem bothered by whatever it was that happened between them, so Taehyung decides to follow his lead. He focuses on reviewing, and he still has that offer to take a few classes in the law school of Leiden University in the Netherlands to think about.
Not that he’s seriously considering it. He’s leaning more towards his plans to simply continue his internship in his dad’s law firm since he’d be working there anyway. His dad insists that he give that offer some serious thought, though.
“It’s a different kind of experience, Taehyung-ah,” his dad insisted when he came home a day before his first final exams.

The finals week is mostly okay, at least to Taehyung. There are notes to review, cases to examine, legal provisions to memorize to the letter.
He has a couple of oral revalidas, three more written exams, an article to write for some extra credit that he doesn't really need. It'll be published in the upcoming volume of their uni's legal journal,
and his name beside accomplished lawyers and judges is a far better incentive than an addition to his grades.

Their friends often rant in their group chat about how much of a hell their final exams and projects are, but he suspects they're exaggerating a bit.
They're a dramatic bunch, prone to not giving themselves enough credit but thrive in boosting each other up.

He knows they're all doing well anyway. They are some of the best in their respective courses, and even his father takes pride in his little group of friends.
"They're my sons, too, Taehyung-ah. Accolades or not. They're good people," his father told him one night as they were going over some possible cases that his father had been considering to take on.
Taehyung remembers playfully scoffing at his father's remarks, saying, "Jungkook can't be your son, too, abeoji. I like him. Don't make this entire thing feel incestuous."

His father only chuckled in response,
shaking his head and muttering to himself something along the lines of /I have an insufferable son./ Then he hands Taehyung a thick stack of documents, adding, "enough pining, you lovestruck fool. What do you think of this case?"
The end of the week comes sooner than expected, and soon, Taehyung finds himself walking out of his last exam, a free man for at least a couple of weeks in between this semester and the next.

He plans to make the most out of this break
since the upcoming semester would be his last. It's going to be a busy time for him, with the number of subjects he has to take, not to mention he's also taking on more workload in his dad's firm. He's already anticipating a significant dip in his free hours,
which is why for this two-week break, he plans to spoil Jungkook rotten.

This is what runs through his mind as he makes his way back to his apartment. As desperate as he is to spend some time with Jungkook now that he's free,
he has to be a little bit more patient since Jungkook still has a live demo of the interactive map he designed as a final project.

Taehyung had offered his apartment as a quiet workspace for Jungkook since he knows how thin the walls of those dorm rooms are.
Jungkook declined, however, saying that working at the dorms is much more convenient in case he needs help with his project since seniors from his course also live there.
Not wanting to be overbearing, Taehyung easily relented. He'll just wait for the rest of Jungkook's exams to be over. But that doesn't mean he can't take care of Jungkook, too. Suddenly coming up with a great idea, he makes a little detour before heading to his apartment.
🐰🐰🐰
#taekook #taekookau

They say distance makes the heart grow fonder, and Jungkook thinks that may be true.

He hasn't seen Taehyung for the entire finals week, as per his request. He said he wanted to focus on his end of term projects and exams,
though honestly he can just review with Taehyung just fine. They've done that several times in the past, their Sundays often spent in his dorm or Taehyung's apartment or any nice cafe Taehyung happens to know, with their notes scattered about.
Studying with Taehyung is also nice because Taehyung has this intense kind of focus, one which pulls at you so that you end up wanting to do your best, too.

At one point, around several weeks into their regular study sessions,
Jungkook's professor in his Art Perspectives class - an elective that he's not particularly fond of as it isn't as engaging as he thought it would be - praised him as the quality of his essays has been steadily improving.
He immediately called Taehyung after that class, and they spent the evening going to the cinema and eating out. A reward for his hard work, Taehyung had said.

So yes, he can review even when Taehyung is around, or at least he was able to.
But his feelings are a mess, and lately, simply looking at Taehyung has his stomach doing somersaults, and he really can't deal with that for now.

He's starting to regret this whole distance thing though, because he does miss Taehyung terribly.
With one day left, the exams are slowly getting to him, and he just wants to be coddled for a bit. Taehyung knows just how to do that, knows the exact kind of comfort that Jungkook needs.

But Jungkook was the one who asked for this time apart, and Taehyung, as usual,
easily gave in, telling him he'll just wait for Jungkook's exams to be over. (Jungkook sort of wanted Taehyung to insist a bit, to maybe sulk a bit, but this is Taehyung we're talking about.)

And well, Jungkook also has his pride to think of.
So as much as he misses Taehyung, he powers through. Ironically he's the one sulking just a bit at how adamant Taehyung is in giving into Jungkook's requests. Wouldn't it hurt for him to be just a bit insistent?
It's already dark when he gets out of his last exams for the day. Jungkook sighs as he drags himself back to his dorm, planning to rest for a few hours before he dives into the final touches for his last project for the term.
He doesn't notice anything amiss when he gets to his dorm room. That is, until he sees the snacks on his coffee table, some energy bars and chips. When he goes to his fridge, there are some cakes, energy drinks, canned coffees, and a veggie wrap from that salad bar he loves.
A note is on top of it:

/A light dinner works well for an all-nighter. You can share the snacks with your seniors. Good luck, baby! You will ace that demo for sure. - KTH/
Ah. So that's why Taehyung asked for the code to his door. Jungkook rubs his chest at the warmth that settles there. He remembers all those times that he bought Siwoo snacks or lunches or dinners way back when they were still together.
So this is what it feels like to be on the receiving end of those gestures.

It's also a wonder how, even without him saying anything, Taehyung simply knew what he needed to feel cared for.
A part of him feels guilty that he even remembers those times, that he could not help but compare his last relationship with everything that happens between him and Taehyung. It feels like a disservice to Taehyung,
who deserves more than simply being compared to an ex-boyfriend, a cheater at that.

Taehyung deserves to be appreciated for who he is, not as compared to anyone else. Just him.
He wants to call Taehyung. No. He wants to see him. Tell him in person how much this all means to him.

A more treacherous part of him buzzes at the back of his mind, though. Is this part of Taehyung's plan after all?
To make Jungkook miss him so much that he ends up taking back his own words?

He shakes his head, curls up into himself on the floor and hugs his knees. He's spent enough time with Taehyung to know that he isn't like that.
Taehyung cares just for the sake of caring. It frustrates Jungkook that even now, he still has lingering doubts.

With shaky hands, he dials Taehyung's number. A couple of rings later, he hears a click and then a rough, "Kook-ah? Everything good?"
Jungkook wants to sigh, but a sniffle comes out instead. "Hyung."

"Kook, what's wrong?" There's a quiet shuffle on the other end, like Taehyung is putting on something. A jingle of keys. "Are you okay? Do you need me to come get you? Talk to me baby, please?"
"Hyung I'm fine, am in my dorm." He coughs to steady his voice but it still comes out cracked. "I just. Thank you, hyungie."

Taehyung audibly sighs from the other end of the line.
"I thought - hmm. It's okay, Jungkook-ah. But are you sure you're fine?
Why did you sound like you were crying?"

Jungkook stays quiet for a while, just until he could steady his voice because hearing Taehyung now is tearing his resolve apart. It makes him greedy,
makes him want to rush out so he could run to Taehyung's apartment and bask in his embrace. "I'm fine, I just - I miss you."

"I miss you, too, babe," Taehyung immediately answers.

"I wanna see you."
A light chuckle, one that doesn't mock but sounds like Taehyung is so, so endeared. "I want to see you, too."

That significantly brightens up Jungkook, makes him lose his pout, at least until Taehyung adds, "but for now, you need to focus on your finals, okay?
I'll wait for you tomorrow."

Jungkook wants to whine. Or maybe punch Taehyung because why does he have to be so reasonable all the time? It's frustrating. He can't even argue because he knows Taehyung is right. He does have to focus. So he huffs a petulant /fine/.
Later, he invites some of the coursemates he's friends with to his room for a group study. He gives them the snacks that Taehyung bought for them, and he sees how their mood immediately lifts after seeing the free snack. "Ah, that's why he was here earlier!" Says Cheol,
one of his seniors who had not-so-good encounters with Siwoo before. "Ah, a fucking god-send, that Kim Taehyung."

"Definitely better than your last boyfriend. That one was just fuckin rude all the time," says Woosik, another one of his seniors.
Jungkook wonders how many of them Siwoo had offended before.

He doesn't correct them when they call Taehyung his boyfriend.

"This one's a keeper, Kook-ah."

Jungkook blushes, and it's with a huge smile that he says, "he is, isn't he?"
#taekook #taekookau

Jungkook does well on his demo, breezes through his presentation and answers the questions thrown at him with ease because he knows his work inside out.
His nerves only settle when he gets out of the room and sees Taehyung waiting for him, a bottle of kombucha in one hand. "Knowing you, you probably have enough caffeine in your system right now, so no coffee for you for the rest of the day."
Taehyung tickles his chin and he feels himself melt at the touch.

He's been missing this, the subtle comfort that Taehyung brings, his little gestures that never fail to make Jungkook feel well taken care of.
"Ah, the hyungs want to meet later. Jiminie and Hobi-hyung are already at my place. Wanna head there?" Taehyung wraps an arm around Jungkook's shoulder as they walk.

Jungkook is sleepy, but he doesn't like the thought of missing their time together,
not when he's craving Taehyung's presence. He leans against Taehyung.

"Would you rather rest in your dorm first?" Taehyung asks when Jungkook doesn't respond. There's a flurry of activity all around them,
students either rushing to their last finals for the term or heading out after finally being free for a while.

But Jungkook is in a cocoon of warmth, snug beside Taehyung. "Mm, can I just nap in your apartment, hyung?" He mumbles,
pressing closer to Taehyung.

"As you wish."
As a thank you to the wonderful gift I have received today, I shall be finishing this in a day or two 💜 thanks to those who gave this a chance and most especially to @sultrykookv for recommending my acct
Their little get-together officially starts much later in the evening because Yoongi arrives late. “Fell asleep,” he mutters as he enters Taehyung’s apartment. Overall, it’s a good get-together: there’s pizza and chicken that Namjoon bought from their favorite place,
there’s beer and soju, and somehow, much later, Yoongi was able to convince Taehyung to take out his bottle of Convalmore 36 Year Scotch. It’s horrible, and Jungkook does not understand why someone would pay that much money for something that tastes like despair.
“You’re so cute, Kook-ah,” is all that Taehyung says in response, fondly ruffling his hair while taking the glass of scotch from him and drinking it in one go.
Still, despite how much Jungkook had hated the drink, he cannot deny that seeing Taehyung take sips from his own glass is incredibly sexy. His alcohol tolerance is impressive, seeing as he does not seem affected by the scotch from the devil at all.
The only thing that might suggest that Taehyung is tipsy is that he’s laughing at Yoongi’s joke about a track athlete and a musician getting into a bar. The joke had been incredibly unfunny.

There’s something so mature about the movement,
something powerful, about the way Taehyung drinks while his other hand is comfortably nestled on Jungkook’s thigh. Jungkook squirms in seat. He’s alarmed at the thought that he wants the hyungs to leave just so he can be alone with Taehyung.
He’s been having these kinds of thoughts lately, since that time that he practically rubbed against Taehyung’s hand when they were watching a movie. Jungkook knows he should feel a little bit of shame about what happened. His usual self would have been flustered.
But Taehyung, god bless him, did not act differently towards Jungkook, which in turn made Jungkook more comfortable. He won’t deny that he likes Taehyung’s subtle and not-so-subtle touches.
Where he used to feel warm each time he and Taehyung made contact, this time, he feels a simmering heat that begins at the base of his tummy.

He knows what this means: he’s horny, okay?
It’s been months since he’s last slept with someone, and at this point, doing it with his hands isn’t just enough anymore. Sometimes, he lies awake at night, plagued about thoughts of Taehyung -
Taehyung’s eyes, Taehyung’s perfect nose, Taehyung’s lips, Taehyung’s godforsaken tongue that always darts out of his mouth for no other apparent reason than to drive Jungkook insane, Taehyung’s voice, Taehyung’s hands, Taehyung Taehyung /Taehyung/.
“You’re drunk, aren’t you?”

“Huh?”

“Are you okay?” It’s Jimin. Jungkook did not even notice that Jimin’s now sitting beside them on the couch.

Shit. He must have spaced out again. Jungkook shakes his head.
“Am fine, am not drunk.” He barely drank anything, just a shot of soju at most. “Just tired is all,” he says. That he gets lost to thoughts of being touched and held by Taehyung, the hyungs do not have to know.

Jimin squints at him before nodding. “Okay.”
Thankfully, Jimin doesn’t bother him that much afterwards, though his suspicious glances are a bit unnerving. So he chooses to simply stick with Taehyung the entire time just so he could avoid Jimin.
It helps that the rest of them are chaotic as usual: by half past midnight, Namjoon is talking to a plastic plant on one side of Taehyung’s apartment, Jimin is challenging Hoseok on a dance battle, and Seokjin and Yoongi are arguing about the global impact of Shin Ramyun.
It's an absolute mess, and Jungkook loves every bit of it. He’s currently draped over Taehyung’s lap, with Taehyung gently rubbing his leg. It feels nice, and a significantly harder press down his calf has shivers running up Jungkook’s spine.
He has half the mind to suppress the moan that threatens to spill out of his mouth.

He’s sure though, that Taehyung is aware of how he feels, if his gaze is anything to go by. Taehyung’s gaze is heavy, his eyes hooded as he looks at Jungkook with bated breath,
his mouth slightly open. By now, Jungkook’s breathing is labored, his chest rising and falling much more obviously as he bites into his lower lip so hard he could almost taste blood on his tongue.

“Hyung,” Jungkook whispers when Taehyung tugs his lip with his free hand.
His other hand remains on Jungkook’s leg, this time caressing his knee, up his inner thigh, and when he presses hard, Jungkook feels his eyes roll up.
“Hyung, please…” Jungkook doesn’t know what he’s begging for. All he knows is that Taehyung’s skin on his sends fire to his veins, lighting him up, and he doesn’t want Taehyung to stop touching him like this – gently but with a hint of roughness that he craves.

Hi anyone here who's waiting for the Janus update? I got a question
Hhh ok ok since a few of you are here, uh, do you guys want a shorter update with minimal tk interaction? Or would you rather have a longer (around 7k?) update, reaching up to the end of part 2, but one that will be posted tomorrow?
Comment here pls. I'll wait for around 5 answers? Before deciding it myself 🥲
