Monsanto’s Ghostwriting to Influence Science and Media disinformationchronicle.substack.com/p/monsantos-gh…
While most ghostwriting scandals in science involve physicians, #Monsanto ran a unique and sophisticated campaign to promote GMO technology and attack critics /1
When the World Health Organisation was going to find the herbicide #glyphosate linked to cancer, #Monsanto started a ghostwriting campaign to counter.
Monsanto's William Heydens “Manuscript to be initiated by [Monsanto] as ghost writers." /2
Monsanto published many of their ghostwritten studies in Regulatory Toxicology & Pharmacology, and in Critical Reviews in Toxicology. @drdavidmichaels has referred to this publications as "corporate vanity journals." disinformationchronicle.substack.com/p/monsantos-gh… /4
The society that publishes Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology used to hold their meetings in the offices of Keller and Heckman, the law firm for tobacco and chemical companies.
This journal has also published studies denying the dangers of fossil fuel combustion. /5
Media promote ghostwritten studies: In one example, Monsanto gave Politico's @MarksSimon access to documents for a story alleging the WHO left out a critical study by Greim on glyphosate. In reality, Monsanto fooled Politico and ghostwrote the Greim study. /6
The Greim study was later promoted by two Monsanto front groups: Genetic Literacy Project, and the American Council on Science and Health. (Both groups were later exposed for #Monsanto funding) /7
Monsanto had a very layered approach to front groups and Senapathy is a member of both Biofortified and a former writer for the Genetic Literacy Project.
Monsanto's strategy against the WHO lists both as allies. /9

Wokes Gone Wild: American Health Care Journalists Ignore CDC, Go All in on Masks, via @disinfochrondisinformationchronicle.substack.com/p/wokes-gone-w…
At this week's conference, @AHCJ reporters might be the only group walking around Austin wearing N95 respirators. "They gonna look like Martians." /1
AHCJ will require all reporter attendees at this week's conference in Austin to wear masks all the time. Austin's mayor is following CDC guidance stopped the mask requirement last month austintexas.gov/sites/default/… /2
A frequent AHCJ conference attender who sometimes speaks on their panels told me, “They’ll likely be the only people walking around as a group wearing masks in Austin. They’re gonna look like Martians.” /3
Several criminal referrals have been sent to various agencies about misuse of PREDICT funds and Hill staff have been alerted on relevant committees, yet Science Magazine's Jon Cohen can't get off his butt to question Dennis Carroll?

Touting themselves as the solution to disinformation, OpenMind platforms climate denial and Big Tobacco disinfo peddler, APCO PR /1
In 2006, I won an award w/ @sejorg for an article on APCO PR's the Advancement of Sound Science Coalition (TASSC) a front set up by tobacco. Now APCO is being fronted as the answer to "misinformation"? /2
APCO also set up:
Friends of Science — a now-defunct climate-denial group that promoted “sound science.”

When a UNC Grad Student Confronted Dr. Ralph Snyderman for Aiding the Sacklers’ Opioid Scheme, the Duke University Professor Threatened Legal Action disinformationchronicle.substack.com/p/when-a-unc-g…
Duke’s Press Office: “I can’t comment on Ralph Snyderman.” /1
Last summer grad student Alex Rich emailed Snyderman, "As a member of the Board of Directors of Purdue Pharmaceuticals from August 2012 to October 2017, you oversaw a company engaged in criminal conduct to which the company has since pleaded guilty.” disinformationchronicle.substack.com/p/when-a-unc-g… /2
