1. Alito's first draft was like an opening draft of a settlement agreement when the attorney who drafts it is a total jerk. He filled it with far-right fever dreams in hopes that all four members of his majority would buy in. I'm guessing Kavanagh and perhaps even Gorsuch balked,

He's a retired Rear Admiral, and likely still subject to military discipline. If he was part of an attempt to overthrow the country he may be looking at a loss of his pension and benefits under the Hiss Act that can take his pension away for lying to a congressional committee.
