Massive Ukrainian withdrawal in Donbas continues.
Hours ago, the Ukrainian army surrendered the city of Svitlodarsk (formerly 12.000 inhabitants) to Russian invasion forces.
The settlement became undefendable after the Russian breakthrough south of Popasna.
And big surprise: Russian invasion forces hoisted the #Russian flag in the city. Not the shitty "DNR" / "LNR" republic one.
So much on the "liberation of People's Republic soil" ...
More updated #NewsMap.s of the battlefield situation in Eastern #Ukraine today.

Pro-Kremlin accounts claim the Ukrainian line of defense collapsed around Popasna and Russian airborne troops advanced almost 15 km West.
This is unconfirmed, so I am not marking the area as Russian-held yet on my map. It is just for illustrative purpose.
ANNA is one source for the claim.
Massive Russian reinforcements arrived in Popasna prior the push. Seems to be real.

And yes! I am very much aware that these Russian advances lie far behind the initial plans to capture Eastern 🇺🇦 - as I again mentioned in our TV program today.
However, there is still no general turning point, but 🇺🇦 advancing in Kharkiv and 🇷🇺 gaining ground in Luhansk&Donetsk. Image

Withdrawing Ukrainian forces detonated the Borova river bridge between #Rubizhne and #Severodonetsk.
Everything north of it - on the right side of the Severski Donets river - fell to the invasion army, meaning the Russians captured the ruins of Rubizhne and Voyevodivka. ImageImage
There are counter claims, though.
So maybe the bridge was detonated in anticipation of the Russian advance with some light Ukrainian units remaining in Rubizhne to slow down the Russian advance, before defensive positions in northern Severodonetsk are fully established.

Lots of Ukrainian armor destroyed, not a single civilian remaining in the city it seems.
