.@harjeet11: We as civil society are fearing that the #GlasgowDialogue will hang on and will not result in an outcome. Developing countries having been demanding for finance for #lossanddamage for about 30 years
.@TracyCarty@oxfamgb: There is currently no global agreement to finance #LossandDamage and we cannot continue to ignore the harm caused, to let the poorest countries and communities foot the bill for a crisis that they've contributed least to.
Jacquiline Masso @can_africa Coordinator: This year we are seeing flooding and droughts in Africa - two challenges that we need #SB56 to create a roadmap. We need the #G77 to keep standing in solidarity with the people and put the #LossandDamage finance facility in place
Jacquiline Masso @CAN_Africa Coordinator: We want to call on the African Group of Negotiators @AGNChairUNFCCC the #G77 and China to stand in solidarity with the people; and call out the blockers like Switzerland - we're not pleased. The climate crisis has no boundaries. #SB56
.@HaNeENsHaHiN@CANArabWorld1: Civil society must be attending #SB56 - people need to know more about what's happening in these closed rooms, people need to be talking about climate change - hear our voices, translate every word and include people in what is happening.
.@HaNeENsHaHiN@CANArabWorld1: It's very important for the people to be attending COPs and SBs. @IYCM said 40% of accredited youth didn't receive visas. What will happen in Egypt at #COP27? So far, it's been very disappointing not hearing those souls #SB56#BonnClimateConference
.@harjeet11: There is an excuse that we don't have sufficient details on how the #LossandDamage Finance Facility would look like. We as civil society brought this paper at #SB56 to provide a basis for negotiators on how the LDFF could be operationalised: climatenetwork.org/LDFF-paper

First a recap from COP26:
7 months ago countries met in the @UNFCCC & signed the Glasgow Pact to work together to increase climate ambition. Two outcomes were critical for frontline communities- a promise to double adaptation, and a Glasgow Climate Dialogue on Loss & Damage / 2
At COP26, over 130 developing countries took a historic step to support a proposal for a Loss and Damage Finance Facility (LDFF). They represented nearly 5 billion people. It was a clear call to the international community for solidarity & support.
We are reacting to the #UNFCCC text and stocktake now.
It would be a betrayal of people around the world, suffering from the impacts & those that are calling for action. The 🇨🇱presidency had 1 job, protect the integrity of the Paris agreement & not allow it to be torn apart by cynicism & greed. Right now it is failing. @climatemorgan
@mohadow: At the very least, we want to see revived the enhancements to the NDCs. If that doesn't come through, it will have failed. The second thing that is most important for this process is that we don't undermine the environmental integrity of the deal.
