mad at you for using evidence to inform policy. Masks work. Isolation works. Sick kids should not be at school. After the hell of the last two years, this has been the worst part; people expecting my husband to show up and shut up about the risks to his daughter
How can people expect employees to risk the health of themselves & their loved ones like this, and for what? So people don’t have to deal with the inconvenience of a mask & staying home when sick? Seriously?! Want to know what’s worse than inconvenience? A seriously ill child.

I won’t forget being mansplained by a former investment banker MLA telling me he doesn’t agree with my data and sources, I won’t forget having calls and social media blocked, emails and calls unanswered. All for voicing the harm these policies cause, from the perspective of an
Evidence informed health professional, legitimately concerned about the health of all Albertans, especially her medically vulnerable child, too young for vaccination.
Boards telling me it’s the govt’s fault & the govt saying school boards can make their own decisions (despite a letter threatening them they can’t). Either way, they both could’ve done the right thing, followed science, and put the health and safety of all in schools first.
But they chose not to. And they did it again this week. Just silence and no accountability following this announcement.
I KNOW many parents have NOT kept sick children home… because they don’t. Anyone who works in schools knows this is reality, which makes it even more infuriating why protections were removed, knowing the behaviour of the population.
So here we are, hoping one way masking, open windows and luck can keep our daughter safe. It’s an unimaginable hell to not be able to protect your child from a PREVENTABLE infectious disease, knowing everyone else has given up even trying to do the right thing.
Shame on you @CMOH_Alberta @AdrianaLaGrange @JasonCoppingAB @jkenney @UCPCaucus and more I can’t name without risking ourselves. @albertateachers please protect your members- OHS is YOUR responsibility. Some employees have exhausted every avenue with great risk and no result.
