It starts as a “simple infection” until YEARS later it becomes:

Long HIV…AIDS
Long HPV…Cervical Cancer

Long HSV…Alzheimer’s

And news flash: for all of those saying “COVID is only bad for older people”… #LongCOVID is MORE common for YOUNGER people.
.@CDCgov knows this. It’s THEIR data. It should be stated at every press conference, plastered across every form of media. And it should GUIDE policy.

Masks should have NEVER been lifted. Any provider suggesting it should when so much is unknown does a disservice to the public.

My point is regardless of why a disease occurs, the mechanism of action that leads to dysfunction, the end result of dysfunction is the problem.

So I don’t care if it’s reactivation, latency, or inflammatory response that causes the organ failure. I just don’t want the failure.

As I was saying, we do NOT know the long term consequences of #COVID, or what causes #LongCOVID, but we do know it has left millions with debilitating dysfunction… and they weren’t all old… and they weren’t all sick.

I swear every time I see one of these posts I think about our ancestors. They died for us to have what they prayed they could do.

If you don’t see a candidate you like on the ballot…RUN yourself. But what in the world does NOT voting do but allow other people to control outcome
When I see these posts it also reinforces the idea that in the same way we’ve failed to teach basic biology, embryology, and virology in this pandemic we’ve also failed in teaching civics. How government works. How policy is formed. And how it takes MORE than just one person.
What we must understand is that it takes consistently showing up to the poll for EVERY election. In EVERY state we need 100% participation. We have senators that have been in place as long as I have been alive, never voted out. Why? Because people sit at home instead of voting.

10 Black people were shot dead for no damn reason other than being Black and y’all want to talk about teeth.

Me: Understand what? This is NOTHING new. Black ppl have been terrorized by “White Radicals” since 1619. And every time y’all want to scratch up a theory as to why. It’s the same $@/& as last time.

Black people aren’t even given the privilege of 6 whole days to grieve before y’all want to pull out think pieces to analyze the 18 different ways racism presents itself in modern day society.

Give it a break.

Y’all are not slow. If we know why it happened, so do you.

I’m not going to lie, this Buffalo shooting has hit to my core. Hate has a way of disturbing all peace. They were just shopping for food in a community already greatly deprived of resources. The only store available.

White people, talk to your family.

This whole, “we don’t talk about politics bc it just causes fights at the dinner table” BS has GOT to stop. Hell, we want to be able to live long enough to have a disagreement at a damn dinner table, too!
We want to be able to go to church, grocery store, movie theater, & school.
Don’t smile in my face. Don’t retweet. Don’t high five me if you stay damn silent in the setting of your own family, friends, & congregation. Someone KNEW this family. Someone KNEW this sick man who wanted to go to an elementary school so he could SHOOT BLACK CHILDREN.

So talk!

Y’all have the nerve to publish stuff like this when Black & Brown Children are STILL 2x more likely to be hospitalized, 5x more likely to die & make up 65% of the kids now ORPHANED due to #COVID.

Stop blaming it on lack of in person learning. These kids were battling to live!🧵
How about instead write about the fact we have STILL not repaired the ventilation systems in the schools that is leading to more Black And Brown children getting infected. We have NOT provided social support services to address the fact that their parents died at higher rates.
Talk about how we have NOT addressed the fact these communities STILL don’t have Wi-Fi access to allow for virtual learning if there’s an outbreak in the school. Or that NOW testing/vaccination carries an out of pocket fee that the most vulnerable can not afford.
Talk about that.

Don’t tell me to respect the constitution when I had to be an amendment… twice.
I will scrutinize it’s legitimacy as a governing document on the same exact level that it scrutinized my legitimacy as a human being.
The constitution didn’t give me rights as much as it took it away.

I was born free until the constitution told others I wasn’t.

If Black People die at YOUNGER ages and HIGHER rates for Breast Cancer, Colorectal Cancers, Lung Cancers, Prostate cancers, etc. Then why are we NOT granted screenings at younger ages?! Don’t group us with the screening age of White Americans IF WE DO NOT DIE AT THAT AGE. 🧵
AND HOW, in this free world where we speak of inhumane acts committed by others, do we allow the conditions that LEAD to the development of these conditions in targeted neighborhoods? The poisoning of air/water supply dictated by policies supporting industrialization over people?
There is NOTHING weak about the DNA of Black people. We’ve survived what should have killed us w/ half of resources needed. But you can’t fight environmental racism, industrialization, poverty/denial of access, & medical racism w/o coming up short. And we have for generations.
