A $dag thread: 1/9
Truthfully, the innovations made by blockchain, #nonfungible#tokens and distributed ledger technology reach far beyond that of finance alone — but for the sake of brevity, I'll attempt to keep the topic on the financial aspects which stand to benefit from the
adoption of #dlt and #blockchain. One of the primary benefits that an intelligently built #cryptocurrency protocol can have is in its ability to transact without fees. Fees are everywhere in the fiat world 2/9
, including fees to keep money in the bank — meanwhile they’re using it! — and the ultimate fee of fiat, inflation! Compare that to a world-class token like $dag by @Conste11ation, which is used as the index token for an entire ecosystem with what is currently ~75 companies 3/9
building on it, the number of which will continue to grow. Dag is feeless to send and is immune to inflation — and unlike fiat which can be printed infinitely and has no real backing other than a promise — has a finite amount which can never be increased; in fact, it’s 4/9
intrinsically deflationary by its very nature. Index token means it represents all ~75 of those companies and organizations currently building on it, and all of them need to hold it in their reserves on a weighted basis based on their data throughput on the network. 5/9
Further still, by allowing end users to participate in the data validation process by staking collateral and operating a validator node, the significance of this is staggering: not only is this protocol a currency without fees in and of itself, but it’s also deflationary by 6/9
nature because the more data throughput on the network, the more $dag will be bought and held long-term. Furthermore, it has the ability to return an exponentially healthier return on investment in the form of node rewards than any bank could ever return in interest — and 7/9
don’t forget, the bank is using your money! With dag, there is a mutually beneficial exchange and you’re rewarded fairly and properly. We haven’t even begun to talk about the use-cases a protocol like dag is bringing to the fore, which is a key player in the battle to have 8/9
crypto and blockchain finally achieve mainstream adoption. I’ll save that for another thread, but here’s a hint — as close to perfect as possible big data validation, interoperability of disparate blockchains, and #layer0. 9/9
