Officials with Greenwood Police, IMPD, ISP, Greenwood Fire, Johnson Co. Coroner’s Office, FBI, ATF here to discuss investigation and the victims killed last night.
Johnson Co. Coroner says the victims include husband and wife, Pedro Pineda, 56, and Rosa Mirian Rivera de Pineda, 37, and Victor Gomez, 30. The victims were killed when a gunman opened fire in the Greenwood Park Mall food court area. @FOX59 @CBS4Indy
The suspect has been identified as 20-year-old Jonathan Douglas Sapirman.
Officials say he used a rifle in the shooting and they also located 2 other guns - a rifle and pistol. Officials: he had multiple magazines and 100+ rounds of ammo with him.

GPD Chief: Timeline based on surveillance shows he entered mall at 4:54 p.m., went directly to restroom. Exited 1 hr 2 mins. later, when he shot Victor Gomez outside of the restroom & then shot Pedro & Rosa, who were sitting & eating dinner. #GreenwoodParkMall
We know the 2 rifles recovered at the scene were purchased in Greenwood. The weapon used in the shooting - purchased 3/8/22, the 2nd rifle recovered, purchased 3/9/2021. Family says the suspect had been practicing shooting at Range USA recently.
Officials believe the suspect was preparing while he was in the bathroom for 1 hr+. The shooting itself last approx. 2 mins from first shot fired to when the shooter was taken down by a bystander that officials are identifying as 22-year-old Elisjsha Dicken of Bartholomew Co.
Law enforcement recovered a cell phone in the toilet of the bathroom belonging to the suspect. It was in the water and will need to be sent to Quantico to see what can be extracted. Right now - no clear motive & police say they do not have evidence to believe it was targeted
Police say at the home of the suspect when a warrant was executed, they found the oven on high temp. and inside was a laptop and can of butane. Motive not clear - that laptop will also be handled by the feds
