#SupremeCourt hearing a batch of petitions challenging Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and Cable Television Network (Amendment) 2021.
Earlier, the Court had directed to prepare a chart of cases involving:
"1. Challenge to #ITRules
2. Challenge to Cable TV rules
3. Petitions seeking directions over IT Rules.
4. Other set of cases involving instances of #HateSpeeches and #HateCrime."

Counsel informed the bench that the batch of petitions seeking IT Rules have become infructuous as the rules have been made.

Another counsel has sought for a pass over.

The bench will hear the matter later.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informs the bench that the PIL filed by @vineetJindal19 has become infructuous as the rules has come in force.
Bench: So we'll dispose it off. The reliefs claimed in this writ petition to make separate law for the IT Rules. In circumstances nothing much is required to be said, the petitioner will be at liberty to challenge the rules.
Bench: In the same manner we dispose of the transfer petition filed in regards to a writ petition seeking similar directions.
The bench further disposed of a SLP challenging the High Court order in a plea over the Intermediary rules providing the grievance redressal mechanism.
Skand Bajpai appearing in person submits that there have been several instances wherein several child sexual abusive material has been sold on the internet. There has been a complaint made by me on the online portal, the issue is still surviving.
Bajpai: The petition seek investigation in this regard.

Justice Khanwilkar: Have you challenged the rules? The writ petition is prior to the rules, you have not ammended you writ petition.
Bajpai seeks liberty to withdraw the petition and file a fresh petition.

Justice Khanwilkar: If you'll have good suggestions they'll act on it.
#SupremeCourt now hearing the PIL filed by Amol Palekar challenging the validity of the 2021 Rules.

Justice Khanwilkar: this term is now being often used, it is from other industry.
SG Mehta: These petitions challenging the validity of the rules will have to heard, we have introduced a grievance redressal mechanism.
